Ashland is a great little town, just north of the California/Oregon border. With the help of Southern Oregon University and a Shakespeare festival (in it's 90th year), this town is home to dozens of cute shops and eateries. We stay at Thanksgiving, and a huge crowd comes out for the Santa parade, carols, tree and town square lighting. Lithia Park extends into a canyon for a mile or more west of downtown for beautiful creek-side walks.

Small college town, with some close hiking and other outdoors stuff. The Shakespeare Festival over the warmer months. There's a nice outdoors walk right from downtown. Cafes to hang out in. A bookstore or two. But not like Bend: not @sshole rich ski jerks. In fact, don't come to Ashland, just go to Bend and leave Ashland to quieter folks.

Ashland is all things cool!
Ashland is all things cool! Great collage town along the I5 corridor in Southern Oregon. Lithia Park is a wonderful green space full of interesting characters and history. Beautiful Japanese garden added to the park recently. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Ashland is an International destination. Many very good dining options, pubs, musical events. People are very friendly and openminded. Plus, there is skiing at Mt. Ashland, and too many outdoor activities to list. Siskiyou Crest within easy reach for endless exploration opportunities.

Great small sophisticated town in the heart of the Applegate trail and Emigrant basin. Great fine dining as well as casual dining. Shakespeare festival attracts a large audience so it can be crowded in the warmer months.
Many great accomodations in and around Ashland. The old west mining town of Jacksonville is nearby.
Many wineries in the area to visit and taste the large variety of wines produced in the area!

Great city, great people!
Great city, great people! A short stay for us, would have liked more time. Visited a winery, ate at a couple of restaurants, hiked in the nearby mountains, and saw a fantastic Mariachi band and play at OSF .

We've been coming to Ashland yearly for the past 30 years.
We've been coming to Ashland yearly for the past 30 years. The OSF (Oregon Shakespeare Festival) has a superb reputation and great theatre with a combination of Shakespeare and non-Shakespeare, modern and traditional plays. Something for everyone.
Apart from the stellar theatre company, Ashland has superb restaurants, Lithia Park, a great book store, and nature all around.

Very reasonable for Ashland and a descent room. Easy check in right at 3pm. I was upstairs close to the office and it was quite enough. Comfy bed and low pressure shower, but did the job. Plenty of food close by, but many packed on a Saturday morning. I walked to downtown for a Shakespear play in late afternoon and felt safe enough by myself, even coming back at 11pm. It's 1.5 miles, flat and easy. Maybe not for everyone, but I enjoyed the walk and weather.
The room was beautiful and comfortable for all five of us (3kids). We were located on the first floor which was perfect in the heat, because we didn’t need to use the AC due to the wonderfully shady room. It was so comfortable and nice. We don’t like AC‘s so much and this was just perfect for us. The hotel is in a great location. Lots of restaurants, stores, etc. are in walking distance which made it possible to just ditch the car and walk everywhere.
The breakfast was excellent, everything well presented and delicious, with personal table service. The hotel is well kept and curated in keeping with the time period. The bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were good. Service was friendly and efficient, location was great, near the centre without it being noisy. Parking was at the back and secure. There was very good communication with the hotel before we arrived and it was easy to find.
Hotel was beautiful. well presented, clean and light. the beds were very comfortable, and even though the rooms were small they had everything needed. location was excellent for wandering through town. i would definitely recommend staying here
The room was clean and quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast and the pool. Sleeping was a bit uncomfortable as the room was very stuffy and the pillows too lofty. The location is excellent for visiting SOU. Overall, a very good hotel for the price.
