My parents had a fantastic time. The resort is clean and tranquil and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They allowed early check in and late check out as the room was available. The room was very spacious.
There are two restaurants with the one being a bit of a walk away from the resort. You can access the sea from this restaurant even during low tide.

We loved the food above everything, the size and furniture of the room, the room service, the wifi, the drinksl. I would recommend the all inclusive formula.
The pool was great and so was the pool bar and the bar-restaurant on the ocean.
The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, the staff is dedicated and takes care of every detail.
The position is a bit isolated but we went to Matemwe and Kiwengwe beaches easily with boda boda, which was fun

You need to take into consideration the feelings of your visitors....we do not like being targeted by people pestering us to buy from them every time we go to the beach. It really is a negative factor of visiting your wonderful island paradise....it spoiled it for us. Also this happened to us on other beaches in Zanzibar so not just a Pongwe problem....its endemic to Zanzibar.

Pongwe is an isolated beach, at low tide the sea is very far away and, even at high tide, it is very shallow - you cannot swim. Kiwengwa beach, next door (10 minutes by car) is much better, more lively, with many shops and good hotels.

There is not much to do in the local area other than visit other hotel resorts. We did visit a local school to make a donation and I would advise bringing something with you to donate e.g notebooks, sweets, money

Small remote holiday village with the white sand beach but not having good beach maintenance (seaweed, some dirt on the beach). Little bit far from anything in Zanzibar (far from Stone city and airport, far from spectacular Nungwi and Paje beach). No bars, restaurants, shops and infrastructure outside the holiday resort due to remote location and low density of tourists.

At first sight you can say....what to do here ?....no shops, just some local fruits selling points, no crowded areas, less traffic than anywhere but more nature than anywhere around. It's exactly the opposite comparing with Paje. If you need a quiet, family friendly, uncrowded spot.....ask for Pongwe. And if you want to understand why I'm saying these....just go on Pongwe beach when low tide is there.

Set in a beautiful location right on the beach. A lovely relaxing place to stay.
We were lucky enough to have a room with its own private swimming pool and would thoroughly recommend one of these rooms as it a lovely shaded semi private place to relax.
The meals are lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. A range of trips can be organised by the hotel.
The beach is a wonderful place to walk and swim. The tide goes out a long way to provide fantastic walks on the sand and pools.
It is about an hour from Stone town by taxi.
Breakfast is simple but very delicious. It is all fresh and home made just like dinner - delicious. There is daily menu with quite a variety of food to choose - it was all very tasty.
The beach is right in front of the hotel - however, there is a high and low tide which does not allow you to swim all throughout the day. Nonetheless it doesn’t stop one from enjoying and loving the place.
Staff was very polite and nice.
The property was extremely clean.
Sea lodge - romantic, cosy, comfortable - absolutely beautiful!
amazing location with a private beach, we went on a wonderful reef walk with Juma and saw puffer fish and starfish! they also have kayaks and SUPs you can take out. the chef was amazing, we really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner each day and they catered well to our vegan requests. the hotel staff are excellent and will go out of their way to give you the best experience. also highly recommend the spa treatments. the rooms are great, very quiet and comfortable
The hotel is excellent. Good facilities, well located.
We were very well received and we were given access to the room at 9am, when we were supposed to only be able to access the room after 2pm.
The Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is very good.
It was already my second time in Zanzibar and it was the best, without a doubt.
I highly recommend this hotel.
I will come back.
The most special hotel I have ever been to.
The Island is a magical experience. The view changes every few hours and it is just beautiful.
The staff are absolutely wonderful and take care of every little detail.
