Location was very good, about 8 min wallking from Kauhsiung Main station where you can board on a subway and local train. But not HSR. There are some locals food stalls besides the hotels, such as scallion pancakes, fruits tea stalls, reasonabley priced. The breakfast spread was good too.

It’s an amazing place, it’s a new city but just a really interesting place to wonder about.. I came for the food, so for me it was perfect as I walked streets trying different independent restaurants. The underground and tram service is 100% Efficient And easy to use get yourself an easy card and load up with some cash. The bullet train is a must I took the train from Taipei to reach kaohsiung… I left via the international airport so so easy to travel.. oh and the night food market is amazing.

This city is a hidden gem that hardly any Americans know about. We saw almost no Westerners even though it's a big city. Lot of great sculpture, art, great restaurants, live music, and right on the ocean. Fo Guang Shan monastery and Buddhist site is about 40 minutes by car and fantastic. Lotus lake is fun, especially if you have kids. Lots of colorful, interesting temples. Qijin island is worth a trip since it's a 15 minute walk to the ferry and then 10 minutes on the ferry to the island.

Fantastic city undiscovered by Westerners.
Fantastic city undiscovered by Westerners. Art district is modern, fun and lively with lots of great art, restaurants, shops and even a movie theatre. Fo Guang Shan Buddhist site and museum is about a 30 minute drive out of town and has some very impressive pieces. Lotus Lake was interesting. Qijin Island was worth a visit--about a 20 minute walk then a 10 minute ferry ride.

we don't have much time for Kaohsiung trip this time, only visited 2 night markets and the fo guang shan temple, the night market Rei fong is excellent, big area with many choices, besides, i feel peace in my mind while visit one of the famous temple in Taiwan, will be happy to explore more in Kaohsiung next time.
Stayed 3 nights in room 201. Mattress comfortably firm, water pressure very good. They have a small garden behind with tables and chairs. Smoking area in front of hotel. Also provide free snacks, coffee, tea and cold drinks.
Front desk Ms Yu was very kind, offered to keep our room card in order to cool our room before we return. Also gave good advice on sightseeing spots.
10 minutes walk from kaohsiung station and slightly more from formosa boulevard station.
The design of the hotel is really lovely (japanese like interior), super comfy bed, flexible arrival time, the staff is nice and will provid a lot of recommandations & even a map with the things to do / see in the neighborhood. The location is perfect, 3 min from Formosa Boulevard metro station where the 2 local metro lines cross, also 1 stop from Kaohsiung station, 6 stop from Zuoying HSR. And Liuhe night market is just at the corner of the street.
The hotel upgraded me to a family room, I really didn't need all that space, but it was appreciated. Staff was very friendly over all, and I even decided to extend with one more night and they let me keep same room to avoid me having to move my luggage. Location is so convenient, few mins walk to City Council MRT, same to Kaohsiung Central Park. Just 1 stop from Yanchengpu where the lovely Pier area is. Very good value for money.
Work on the Kaohsiung Railway station means that there is a fair walk from the hotel to the station entrance. When that temporary fencing comes down this may improve. Probably a younger more active person would not have noticed this.
it was not easy to decide on a hotel in kaohsiung. we chose this hotel based on the reviews and i must say we were thrilled. the location is great and the rooms are large, friendly and very modern. we enjoyed our stay very much
