Divača is a quiet town/village on the railwy line between Ljubljana and Koper. It is very close to both Lipica and to skočjanske Jame. These caves are my favourites in Slovenia, although not to be visited if you have a problem walking.. The park surrounding the caves is very beautiful too. Divača itself is quiet, but has a Cinema museum, which is popular with those interested in early silent films. There area few trains three each day, and also a bus service during the week. Not at the weekend, however, as I found to my cost on another occasion when I drove a friend's car home for her - and then found there were no buses on Saturdays by which to travel back to the coast!, and the next train would have kept me late for my meeting. Luckily, there were others around to heading the same way. While Skočjam and Lipica are open all year, there are also smaller caves in the area which are open only in the tourist season. To drive there from the coast takes about 30 minutes, and about the same driving time will take you to Postojna and the more famous caves there, or to Predjamskigrad, an amazing Castle , most of which is inside the mountain, hence its name - the castle in front of the cave.

The hostel serve also as a restaurant with fresh local products, dinner and breakfast were excellent and way beyond what you would expect from a hostel in terms of quality. The room was very clean and comfortable with ensuite bathroom. All the staff was very friendly and helpful, even drove me back to the Divača train station otherwise 45min walk away. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks again!

There was a secure garage for us to store our bicycles. The buffet breakfast was good with many options. The staff were very accommodating and we enjoyed a happy hour on the patio in front of the hotel. The attached restaurant has really good food, too. The hotel is convenient to the caves, which is nice.JeanieUnited States

They were all very helpful and pleasant! :) The hotel has a safe carpark which was important to me. The room was quiet and the hotel is near nature. It is located very near the Italian border if you fancy a trip to Trieste. I recommend this hotel as it offers a good price/performance ratio. The restaurant next door has a good selection of food and the service was nice.
