Second visit to Karlstad and both times have been too short. There is a lot to see, especially around the cultural area, including the Värmlands Museum and Sandgrund Lars Lerin. And pleasant strolls along the river and canals.

Karlstad is the biggest little city in Sweden and a joy to visit. What other city with <100,000 population even has its own opera house and cathedral? The architecture is beautiful and the town is built in a comfortable way so you get to be in many parks and river along with shopping centers and places to eat. Directions and info about the city, including clever grocery shopping, are great. The building is just amazing, you can't miss it! And the inside is clean, tidy, confortable. There's a big shared kitchen with lots of utensils and cooking devices. Great shower and lots of bathrooms per floor. I was lucky enough to be alone in my dorm, it was such a rest after a much worse experience elsewhere!
