It was an incredible pleasant stay. The room was nice, with a nexcellent mattress, the service was great and the restaurant was just awesome. The fod was delicious with a lot of variety everyday. Because the buiding and the deco were a bit old, we were very worried when we arrived but that feeling did not last a minute, the Madinah Hilton is an outstanding hotel. It is so close to the Haram that we came back to rest between each prayer. Thanks to Danah att he reception and to Mumtaz, Sherif at the restaurant , they made us feel like VIP guests! we will be back inchallah!

Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Stay at Shaza Regency Al Madina
Dear Booking.com Customer Service,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a deeply disappointing experience during my stay at Shaza Regency Al Madina. While the initial portion of my stay from December 23 to December 25, 2023, was satisfactory, the subsequent events were nothing short of disastrous and unacceptable.
First, I would like to acknowledge the assistance provided by Abdool Aziz and Mana, who were helpful when our luggage was lost by the airline. However, after our initial stay, we left part of our belongings at the hotel in good faith, as we had confirmed bookings to return from December 26-29 and December 30-January 1.
When we returned on December 26, we were told the room was not ready. We left our passports with the reception and expected to check in after a few hours. To our shock, we discovered that our booking had been canceled by the property. Upon speaking to the reservations manager, Mr. Usama, we were treated with utter disrespect. He was rude to both my wife and me and adamantly claimed that my credit card had declined three times—something I verified as false with my bank, which confirmed sufficient funds were available.
Despite presenting this evidence, Mr. Usama refused to reinstate my booking, leaving us stranded without accommodation. He went so far as to threaten canceling the remainder of our confirmed bookings, which was appalling and highly unprofessional.
When we checked Booking.com, we found that the hotel still had rooms available, albeit at much higher rates—a clear indication of dishonesty and unethical practices. Eventually, we secured alternative accommodation via Booking.com, 2 km away, for R1750 per night—a stark contrast to the R6500 per night the Shaza Regency was charging.
Moreover, we decided not to return to Shaza Regency Al Madina for the remainder of our trip due to their appalling treatment.
One of the sacred Masjids in the world. Peaceful and joy to visit and pray in. I'd recommend visiting after prayer times for more spiritual experience. You can visit the shops near the piazza area, if that's your thing...
