Amazing mountains, a lot of snow, clean air, beautiful views...
Amazing mountains, a lot of snow, clean air, beautiful views, good roads quality, nearly is situated Lidl, 30km from Brasov, serpentine roads to the Omu Peak and Moldoveanu Peak. Forest and pretty nice people. Places to visit like waterfalls, national parks and others.

One of the best positioned cities for walking around.
One of the best positioned cities for walking around. You can easily hike through Moeciu, Pestera, Sirnea, Fundata, Dambovicioara, follow the trails into the scenic Piatra Craiului Mountains, or visit the Bran Castle. Certainly a place for all nature lovers.

Zarnesti is a nothing town.
Zarnesti is a nothing town. The tourist information booth was always closed during our stay, including during the "open hours" that were posted. Restaurants are sparse. The reason to go there is to get quick access to the Carpathians. However, it is a challenge to know where to hike because the tourism office was always closed so we couldn't get a hiking map, & the signage on the trails is lame. The city could do so much to boost tourism but they seem uninterested. On a positive note - A really cool thing about Zarnesti is the Sunday morning market. I was fascinated. You can buy anything from strawberries to chain saws. They have amazing cheeses & fruits on offer.StevenRomania

Good base for walking and also for taking day trips from the station, which is less than 10 minutes walk away. Although on a main road, it was quiet at night. Lovely hosts and would stay again.
