The whole experience was much better thanks to the hospitality of the manager (José) and the owner (Joāo) They took care of things and kept asking questions to customise my experience at the place. so with a lovely accommodation with breathtaking 180 degree view and such cozy, beautiful city I exceeded my expectations about Penacova. You could be at Swiss alps, such high hills and astonishing valleys finishing at Montego River. I will come back again and staying at the same accomodation !NevilleAustralia - Scored 1010
A sleepy little town that is all but closed up on Sundays.
A sleepy little town that is all but closed up on Sundays. There is a grocery store in the town of Penacova and thankfully it is open on Sundays. Strongly recommend that you bring a car if you plan to wander around.Greg NeumillerUnited States of America - Scored 8.08.0
The views from the hilltop where the town centre is situated...
The views from the hilltop where the town centre is situated are fabulous. There isn’t a lot to do in the town but there are some good facilities eg Cota restaurant and Cafe Turismo. In the warmer weather the river beach is an asset. If you are looking for a quiet place off the beaten track Penacova is for you.HHilaryUnited Kingdom

Eduardo and his brother made us feel SO welcome, and we even had a huge functions kitchen to ourselves to cook our yummy dinner! They were so lovely and authentic! Please don't be put off by their struggle with wi-fi - just appreciate the surroundings - a true, authentic European village!
