A city on the move, Warsaw is constantly changing in an effort to rebuild what was lost during World War Two. There’s no better example of this than the stunning Old Town Square, where pastel facades sit alongside dome-topped spires.
Starting here is the Royal Route which passes several historic buildings on its way out to Wilanów, where an ornate Royal Palace is set in a huge park that was the retreat of kings since the 17th century. Just as grandiose is the Palace of Culture and Science, Stalin’s gift to Warsaw that still manages to evoke feelings of hatred and love in equal measure. Go up to the terrace for panoramic city views.
Other cultural offerings are the Warsaw Uprising Museum, considered the best museum in Poland, and traditional bars that still serve down-to-earth food washed down with a shot of vodka - a throwback to the Communist era. Don’t expect to find a seat though – there aren’t any.
Warsaw also has a thriving club scene and more shopping centres than you could throw a stick at. Not that you’d want to, as you’ll be too busy picking up the bargains.
Just outside the city is Warsaw Airport, efficiently linked by public transport to the city’s hotels, guest houses and hostels, available on Booking.com.
Warsaw is not as great a travel value as it used to be.
Warsaw is not as great a travel value as it used to be. It has gotten more expensive for travelers and locals. Despite inflation, it's worth a visit to see museums, churches, and history. It's also a short 3-hour train ride to Krakow. The city is walkable in the historical center with most things within a 20-minute commute by foot.

I was there to meet with family and friends so not a lot of sightseeing.
But I know Warsaw well and I would recommend it to everyone.
Good and inexpensive public transport, beautiful Old Town, great reataurants - I recommend to try those with Polish cuisine. For lovers of art I recommend National Museum with good collection of Polish artists.
And not to be missed the Old Fashioned Chocolade shop E. Wedel on Szpitalna street. Call me biased but the chocolades and desserts are the best on the planet.
One tip - go there in spring - April-May or even better in fall -
September October for the glorious display of automn leaves in Lazienki Park. Take some nuts for the squirels.

We stayed near The Old Town district of Warsaw to try to make the most of the Christmas Market and decorations in December, whilst the decorations were great, the market was very disappointing when considered against others that we have been fortunate to visit over the past few years, if your planning a visit for this reason, i would recommend Berlin, Prague, Buda Pest or in Poland both Gdansk and Krakow rather than Warsaw.
For general sightseeing, Warsaw was fine, we walked for hours each day to visit the main areas of the old town and Praga which is a little more edgy and located across the river and very much worth a visit.
I would recommend a trip to The Vodka Factory for its history and tasing session.
We also had a couple of beers at The Elephants head Belgian Bar in the Old Town, great quality and superb service.

So much to see and do in this vibrant and friendly city. You'd need a long weekend for the museums alone. So many bars and restaurants to try, great value for money, felt very safe and the public transport is excellent.

Warsaw is a very vibrant city with great restaurants, bars, and new trendy bustling areas. Good for business but also foodies & party 'animals'. If you want to have a touch of the fast developing & busy city stay there few days and try to catch that vibe.

The hotel is situated in a perfect location - plac Zamkowy, Old town. Public transport is available, including from/to the airport. My room had the best view I've ever had in a city hotel! There is a reading nook which is perfect for enjoying the view and sipping tea. The atmosphere in the historic building is wonderful. The elevator is peculiar. It is definitely worth staying at this hotel if you love places with special atmosphere.
The staff was good, Location was exceptional because its in the middle of the city, There is a Buble Tee Shop and Asian Restaurant downstairs and a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood to choose, the prices in Poland was very cheap compare to Germany where i live. 5 minutes walking to Old Town, 10 minutes to Warsaw Train Central station and Palace of Culture and Science.
Breakfast is very good - one of the best I've ever had in Poland. Parking is very convenient right in front of the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, a very good hotel for one night. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I have used this hotel many times when traveling to and from Europe and will certainly continue to use :)
Very spacious rooms. Not a genuine 5 star hotel but better than 4 star. Close walk to one of the best parks that I have been to in any city and only 5 minutes by bus to the centre. The buffet breakfast was really good. The staff were polite and helpful.
Good value for the money we paid and will definitely stay again if in Warsaw.
Highly recommended. Excellent bar. Good prices. Poland still is cheaper than other european countries. The location is perfect, close to old town. Nice decoration in lobby, bar and rooms. Good firm pillows.
