D'MESA Seacretlodge and Restaurant, hotel in Taytay

Located in Taytay, D'MESA Seacretlodge and Restaurant provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant.

I arrived at 8:30pm and found a very pleasant family run hotel. Arriving after a long van trip from Puerto Princesa - and being a vegan myself - they prepared a wonderful dinner for me and I relaxed with a beer. Their restaurant area is open air, comfortable and spacious, with nice wooden table. My room was comfortable and they have a hallway space with couches outside of the room and a nice terrace overlooking the main street leading into the downtown. It is a ten minute walk downhill towards the famous fort in town, that everyone comes to see. When it was time for me to go the Bus Terminal to get transportation to El Nido, they went out on the street and flagged down. a tricycle for me, to take me there, so I didn't have to do it myself. Well worth the inexpensive price.

The Dream Beach Resort, hotel in Taytay

The Dream Beach Resort features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a private beach area and terrace in Taytay. With a restaurant, the property also has a bar, as well as water sports facilities.

The local staff were very accommodating. When someone says they will give you the shirt off of their back, I believed it at this resort. We had several challenges as international tourists and the staff went above and beyond to try to accommodate. While it wasn’t the exact solution we re expecting (coming from a different culture), it definitely got the job done and was well appreciated. Ate Kim and Kuya Keith were amazing bartenders and cooks!

The staff are very considerate. Many of them are learning how to work in a business to get credit for their education and the owner selects them very well. The laundry staff are also very good and prompt. The location is excellent being right in front of the fortress. You can get a great view of the fort at night from your balcony in some rooms!

I don't recommend Taytay unless you wanna see a town without tourists. There is a micro dirty beach in the center. It was fiesta time so a lot of people and a lively town, with music non stop, which was nice. We went on an island hopping tour which was private because there was no one else, and we had to pay 4500p for 2 people, without lunch, for 3 stops. We didn't go very far. The snorkeling in front of Elephant island was actually nice and colorful, the small hidden lagoon was interesting, but the water is not crystal clear like in El Nido, and the sand is not white. The 2 beaches where we stopped were quite dirty and snorkeling was not interesting there. Maybe you need to go a bit further... Anyway after seeing El Nido, Coron and Port Barton, I wouldn't recommend Taytay which doesn't add much to the trip I think
