The check-in was very easy and the person at the desk extremely helpful and friendly. The cabin had excellent facilities, kitchen, bathroom very good. Poor wifi, but that's fine. Great walks right from the cabin and wonderful view of the fjord and mountains. Excellent restaurant at hotel Utsikten. Also restaurants down in the village. A great stay.

The gorgeous place to stay in Geiranger. The terrace has fascinating views of the Geiranger fjord, we badly like it. The place is clean, has a sofa, kitchen, kitchen table, bedroom and separate bathroom. Everything looked exactly as in photos. The homemade bakery was tasty. There were two waterfalls in the camping which made a perfect background for a stay.
This waterfront property overlooks the UNESCO listed Geirangerfjord, while the town of Geiranger is 1.2 mi away. AIl cottages have a fully equipped kitchen, a flat-screen TV and a fjord-view terrace.

It's a beautiful fjord, but because of that also very touristy and busy. There'll be a cruise ship coming in every other day filled to the brim with people that will flood out the town and surrounding hiking trails.
I'd suggest a 1-2 day visit here to see the area and the nature and then maybe move a bit further in Mørre og Romsdal to experience the nature and surroundings without all the tourists.

It was nice to stay two nights in Geiranger.
It was nice to stay two nights in Geiranger. The natural beauty of the place was so calming for the soul. We booked a RIB tour of the fjord and a private 4 hour car hire to explore the hair pin turns and views of the fjord. We were lucky to have the day to ourselves without cruise ships in port. They crowds definitely take away from the peace and quiet and the sublime beauty of the place

IMO, a minimum of 3 days at Geiranger (incase if there are a day or two of rain/clouds). It is a place of nature and ideally the place is best enjoyed through hikes or kayaks or boats etc. There are trails of every difficulty levels and durations.

As the end of the Geiranger Fjord, the village is constantly under a constant flow of tourists coming with the huge cruise ships.
The village per se has nothing else special versus other Norwegian villages on any other fjord, but this constant movement of people from the ships gives it the opportunity to be super busy and even more expensive than the normal expensive Norway.

It is probably one of the nicest areas of Norway, and the Geiranger Fjords should be visited by everyone when in Norway.
Despite the distances involved, visitors should get out and about, driving cars there requires some skill and attention, but the roads are well maintained. (Watch out for hikers and bikers!).
A day trip to Alesund is also recommended!

Geiranger is one of the most attractive destinations in the world , the nature itself is a reward and what i suggest is that the concerned authorities can add more services here and there to meet the needs and the expectations of all tourists from all over the world , like more supermarkets , more shopping options etc
Because the smaller studios were not ready for the season yet we got upgraded to a regular cabin. The view from the cabin over the Geirangerfjord downhill was absolutely stunning. The cabin is well equiped, spacious and had a fridge with freezer and oven and stove. Excellent for self-catering. The staff was kind and helpful. All in all this was our best stay in Norway (so far - and I doubt any other accommodation will beat it).
Funny about room reservations in Norway - when you arrive to the hotel they give you the worst room possible.
But after you ask to change the room, the personnel appears to be friendly and nice, and they change the room to your satisfaction.
Exactly this happened in this hotel, and they have lovely rooms with the mountain/river view indeed.
The view from the cabin i stayed in was so beautiful! The place was quiet and scenic. The location wasn't too far from all the 'main' tourist attractions at geiranger. The cabin itself was fully stocked with all the kitchen appliances, spare pillows were available a good size living room/kitchen. Would happily stay there again.
As last year, we chose this hotel in Geiranger this year as well. Not by chance. Thank you for the room type we finally got! With a view of the fjord, the harbor, and the promenade. We love it all. The breakfast was also delicious, and the staff was also kind and helpful.
The most beautifull hotel in our trip to Norway. Spectacular view to the fjord, lovely room with balcony, stunning location in Geiranger. Excellent breakfast an dinner buffet. Ellen at the reception was incredible in her warm welcome. Thank you Ellen.
