Hotel Aurlandsfjord, hotel in Flåm

This family-run hotel is located 100 metres from Aurlandsfjord’s waterfront. It is within 3 minutes’ walk of the Nærøyfjord Ferry Terminal and Aurlandsvangen Bus Stop.

I stayed at this boutique hotel for one day and was very impressed. The breakfast was exceptionally good, with a wide variety of options. The room was spacious and clean, with a great en-suite bathroom and shower area. The double beds were very comfortable, and there were also two single beds. The availability of tea and coffee in the room was a nice touch. The hotel's location right in front of the lake and close to the Flåm main area was very convenient.

Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri, hotel in Flåm

Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri is located in the oldest buildings in the village of Aurland. Situated on the shores of Aurlandsfjord, it offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

I loved everything about it! Staffs were helpful and respectful. The view was just spectacular, especially during sunrise and sunset. Advise to get an additional bed in the cottage room which will be on the sofa, waking up to that view was just phenomenal. Room was clean, well-designed, cozy and beautiful. Has everything you would need for an overnight or a few days stay. Loved the paper that had information about wifi, taxi, etc.. Had a restaurant right outside, just a minute walk away from bus stop, the beach, the riverside.. A great stay contributed much to our family vacation and experience, definitely worth it.

    Gorgeous views

Gorgeous views If you're not engaging in hikes kayaking or special bike rides, one day sufficient inclusive of doing the Fjord The Flam railroad is a must...1 hour one way. Can do RT or continue to other destinations. Beware! If a huge cruise liner pulls in many folks will beb with you for a full day

Nice and wonderful small town with a beautiful fjord.

Nice and wonderful small town with a beautiful fjord. If you are not interested in "long nature walks", 2 days is enough as the town is quite small. Don't like the big ships coming into Flam as it spoils the scenery. Scenic rail is a must do and individual bike ride around is also great

Lovely location, friendly staff and very clean.

Lovely location, friendly staff and very clean. We didn't like the location of our room by the noisy kitchen and we didn't like sharing a bathroom with several other rooms - when we booked it stated we would be sharing with just one other room. Expensive for what it was but we understand that the location does command a higher price as it's sought after!

Beautiful location with good public transport links.

Beautiful location with good public transport links. Touristy obviously with the Flam railway at its core including rail museum and clothing outlets. As a base for car touring you face long tunnels going north (25km) and south (5km) so not one for tunnel phobes. Viking themed restaurant and pubs kitschy but food and beer ok.

Flåm is one of the most stunning places I have ever visited.

Flåm is one of the most stunning places I have ever visited. Just postcard perfect everywhere you look. The first night we had dinner at the Ægir Bryggeripub (Gulinbusti and the Viking Planke). It was probably one of the best meals we have ever had and I would highly recommend booking a dinner at this place, you will not regret it. After dinner, we sat downstairs around the open fire on sheepskin rugs and had a few drinks. The place has a lovely authentic atmosphere and it's a really cosy pub. We got up early the next morning and got coffee and pastries at the bakery. We also bought some chicken sandwiches for lunch as we were planning a hike. We took the mountain train (Flamsbana) to Myrdal and then back to a lower stop (Berekvarm)and hiked back to Flåm from here, as there was too much snow at the top to hike from Myrdal. The hike was wonderful and it was some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. We stopped at Drøymehytta (a small hut just off the trail) with a perfect view of Rjoandefossen, cascading over the side of the mountain. We decided this was a perfect spot for lunch and the chicken sandwich we had bought earlier that morning were delicious. It was an honour to visit Flåm and I hope to go there again at some point in summer when we can rent bikes and cycle down from Myrdal back to Flåm. If you have means of transport then the Stegastien viewpoint, and Aurlandsvangen, just down the Fjord from Flåm are also definitely worth a visit.

    Flam was an amazing location.

Flam was an amazing location. Even though is is set up for mainly tourists to transfer through on their way from Oslo to Bergen , it was a quaint little area with amazing views and hospitality. We were there before the tourist season started , so no cruise ships yet so it felt like we have the place all to ourselves.

I liked everything about this place. It was a guesthouse but like a boutique hotel and like my home.A very comfy bed, a great kitchen and spacious common area with a breathtaking view made me feel happy and relaxed. The owners keep working really hard to make this place clean and tidy. I highly recommend this place.
