Firstly, the staff. They were all super nice. But, specifically, I recently (well, 4 months ago)broke my femur so have been walking with a 4 wheeled walker until I regain my balance. They put me in a superb room with an accessible wet room. Secondly, I have been learning nederlands for an embarrassing amount of time. And, nederlanders do reply in nederlands to me now, but I'm not fluent. And, the staff, without a thought all went super nederlands. To me, personally, it means loads. And did my confidence the world of good. Lastly, for a hotel priced in the more reasonable bracket, this hotel is superb. Assen was also a surprise to me. I have been to many staden in Nederland, and this is now one of my favourites.

B&B De Esdoorn was exactly as described, and Harriet was a lovely and helpful host. Everything was low key and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and in your own space upstairs. Norg is a sweet little town surrounded by beautiful countryside.
