A boring town, and very unattractive.
A boring town, and very unattractive. Just useful to be close to the ferry for the mainland. The money exchange office at the pier is a rip off; go into town to the money exchange there. The tourist office at the pier is very helpful though.

Great city to see and explore. The whole Island of Langkawi can be driven around so if you like a build up city Kuah is ideal to stay in. Close to the port and many choices for a good meal and exploring a night market.AntoinetteAustralia - Scored 1010

The marketing of the tourist attractions by the authorities can be better. Dont just promote the beaches. Goot family spots like the Wild Life centre and the Craft centre are of World Class standards.

It gets worse from previous visits.. This town is a bit run down and I think better planning and maintenance could be done. It used to be a much better spot to hang around. There is a seafod stall name Ka Kee Lang which serves great food with very reasonable price. Much better than its neighbour stalls. A eatery opposite Sri Langkawi mini mart, which sells mamak / arabian food is also worth the visit.WeeneeMalaysia - Scored 1010
Everything is near.
Everything is near. You can go shopping for chocolate, minyak gamat & aroma terapi, kain batik etc. Unfortunately, Dataran Lang is closed for renovation until further notice. Nearby there is Lagenda Park, a good area for taking photos, a splendid view & clean. You must go to Warung Roti Canai Penarak in the morning for breakfast. Roti canai is so good with a variety of kuih too.

No restaurants walking distance. Luckily there are Grab options, which are cheaper than the local taxis. I read the review on the good view but honestly it was not fantastic. Seaview and mountain view is only if you turn your head to the left or right. The place is run down, but many hotels in Langkawi are run down... Luckily we only stayed 1 night. The staff were friendly though.

The hotel’s location is excellent, and overall, I would highly recommend it as a great place to stay.
