At the centre of the Mayan Riveria is Playa del Carmen, a playground for hip Europeans and toned-and-tanned Americans. This resort town showcases the renowned white-sand beaches of the Caribbean Coast along the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
Playa del Carmen's powdery white sands are nestled between Cancun to its north, Tulum in the south and the island of Cozumel, 20 km east with its fantastic diving in the nearby Great Maya Reef. Awake from an afternoon nap to take a dip, go snorkelling or deep-sea fishing in the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Playa is an easy choice as a holiday destination with its range of hotels, many first-class restaurants and beachside nightclubs. Quinta Avienda, also known as 5th Avenue, is the main tourist hub and shopping district. For a more authentic Mexico experience, venture outside of the centre to a local cenote (sinkhole) or Mayan ruins in Tulum.
Cruise ships dock in nearby Cozumel and traffic people to the mainland arriving at the Playa del Carmen Maritime Terminal. If the glimmering Caribbean waters are full, then Booking.com has a huge number of hotels with an outdoor swimming pool by the beach.

El centre de Playa del Carmen està ple de botigues, restaurants i bars per passejar i per prendre alguna cosa. A la majoria de llocs vam poder pagar amb targeta. La platja pública queda amagada amb tants d'edificis i no és molt bonica. Si no vas a la 5ª avinguda trobes més fruiteries, paradetes de menjar barates i típiques on mengen ells. Vam anar a la Illa de Cozumel amb el ferry (hi ha dues companyies que més o menys són el mateix) i vam fer el típic tour per anar a veure l'Arrecife i el Cielo. Això no ens va agradar gaire ja que en el mateix tour i hi ha gent que sap nedar i que no en sap i estan tan pendents que estiguis al seu costat i que et facis fotos amb el seu fotògraf que no et deixen mirar res tranquil. A més després vas a una platja on toques de peu a terra que t'ofereixen música, begudes i una mica de menjar, per nosaltres totalment prescindible, vam anar al tour per veure animals no per ballar a la platja.Laia CasalsEspanya

La piscina a dalt és un plus a afegir. És petita però suficient per refrescar-se. El personal molt agradable.
