Friendly staff willing to help. Lovely welcome drinks. Room cleaned impeccably every day with fresh towels. Pool is really nice and because there are few rooms in the hotel, we often had it to ourselves. Rooms are air conditioned. Well decorated property. Great location.

I liked the fact that there were 2 entries into the hotel, so I could go in and out from 2 different floor levels. And I enjoyed the view towards the local church and the sea.

If you want to have a holiday which you'll chill at the beaches, then it could be a good location to stay, you could walk to the nice beaches nearby. Just keep in mind either one of the going or returning routes would be quite steep since it is very hilly. But you could use Uber or Bolt for it, it is not expensive, almost the same price with public transportation.
If you want to visit the cities like Valetta, the distance could be challenging for you. It takes around 1.5 hours to go with the public transportation. In Valetta, the prices in the restaurants are more expensive compared to Mellieha.

It is a good point to start exploring Malta.
It is a good point to start exploring Malta. It is close to Gozo and Comino. We use Uber and Bolt to see the nicest beaches in Malta. We recommend Qarraba Bay and Popeye Cliffs. In July there is too hot.

Mellieha is beautiful and a good location for the beach.
Mellieha is beautiful and a good location for the beach. However, we took day trips to Valletta and Mdina, and in late July it was too hot and sweaty to properly enjoy them. I would recommend Malta in the spring time when it's not so hot because there are lots of nice things to see.

Mellieha is situated in the northern part of Malta and perfectly situated to discover Malta. There's shops and restaurants closeby, even on walking distance if you can stand the heat. Going to Valletta is only a 35min drive and the Gozo ferry is just 10min away. In our opinion a rental car is a must to discover the island on your own pace, although Uber is available everywhere and costs about €35 for a single ride to Valletta. Depending on your plans, the cost to use Uber vs car rental might end up being more or less the same.

The bus routes through Mellieha are frequent and cheap with a weekly bus pass. The facilities in Mellieha are good shops, bars and restaurants. No major stores, but not required. Access to the best beaches in Malta is excellent

Neither the beach or the town is particularly nice, the separation between them means either a hot walk up hill or bus or hire car. The beach has very few refreshment options or other facilities.
The church and WW2 tunnels are interesting but the rest of the town is not attractive. The food in Gems restaurant is great and a wide choice.
My wife and I have stayed in other stars branch hotels in Malta for a few days before we extend the trip a bit longer.. I think staying in a private holiday apartment is a much better choice than hotel resorts. It is much cheaper and you have a lot more privacy and get to know locals better. This is not something you can do if you stay in fancy resorts. Amazing seafront view, spacious areas, well-equipped with everything you need, quiet location. Surely recommend it to friends and family next time they go to Malta.
Maritim is a nice hotel, well placed close to a bus stop which takes you all over the island. The sea is a 15 minute walk away. The nearby restaurants offer an excellent selection . The breakfast buffet has lots of options and the breakfast staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The Thai restaurant and rooftop pool were very good. The room was a good size. Highly recommend a trip to paradise bay.
The best hotel in Malta is getting better, better and even better with every stay (feel free to scroll for my older reviews). This time they went out of their way by arranging a special breakfast when leaving the hotel at 3 am. The staff was amazing (special shout out to Faye from Front Desk and Marijana from Bellini Restaurant), and the ambience relaxing as always.
Thanks a lot for everything!!
Eveything in Ghand-in hotel was great. Clean, Maria was very friendly and caring about the guest.the breakfast was exceptonal. For my next trip to malta I will definitly stay there again. Highly recomended.
This is the best resort in Malta. You have to bear in mind there's nothing else near, so you will enjoy the hotel itself. The staff is extremely friendly and supportive.
