The rooms are very spacious and cozy, the baths which were built to incorporate nature are a true privilege experience. The Villa was located in Ahangama, south of Galle and was a perc et location. Great balance of shops, bars, restaurants and beaches and easy access to the trains to get around. We visited Galle and the Dutch Fort which was good and also Weligama, which wasn't so good. Weligama felt down market and the beach wasn't a patch on Kabalana which was the best around. Turtle beach is worth a visit but get there early top avoid the crowds. Safari to Udawalawe National Park is worth the trip.

Galle is a mesmerizing coastal gem in Sri Lanka that perfectly blends history, culture, and charm. The highlight of any visit is undoubtedly the Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This well-preserved colonial-era fortress offers a walk-through history, with its cobbled streets, ancient ramparts, and breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. It's a living museum where you can feel the echoes of the past while enjoying the present.
The area within the fort is dotted with great little shops that offer unique, handcrafted souvenirs, local art, and stunning jewellery. Whether you're searching for traditional batik, handmade leather goods, or artisan homeware, there’s something to delight every shopper.
Food lovers will adore the restaurants and cafes scattered throughout Galle Fort. From quaint spots serving authentic Sri Lankan curries to chic bistros offering fusion cuisine, the culinary experiences are as vibrant as the surroundings. Many of these establishments are set in beautifully restored colonial buildings, adding to the historical charm of the dining experience.
Overall, Galle is a destination that beautifully intertwines the old and the new, making it a must-visit for history buffs, food enthusiasts, and anyone looking to soak up the serene beauty of Sri Lanka’s southern coast. It's one of my favourite places and comes highly recommended!

Get here now before the place turns into another 'super over done tourist destination'. Galle Fort still has the spoil and vibe of a place on the up. 3-5 years... it will be an over priced "UNESCO" tick the box resort...

Definitely worth a visit. The museums were a good insight into the area. Lots of choices of eating places and shopping. The views from the wall were great, a good vantage point to view sunset. Plenty to do to keep busy or just chill at one of the many cafe’s.

From our hotel it was easy to walk around the whole Fort and to all the historical monuments, restaurants, cafes, shops, art galleries, jewellers etc. There are lots of good restaurants to try in and around the interesting lanes. Our favourite restaurant was The Merchant/ 1710. Galle Fort is a beautiful town.

The accommodation clearly exceeded our expectations. There are only two rooms in the complex, which makes it pleasantly quiet. Despite the small complex, there is always a janitor who is there for every request and serves breakfast very lovingly. In general, both the owner and the janitor were extremely friendly. Last but not least, the room and the pool were very modern, clean and inviting. The bed was also the most comfortable of the Sri Lanka trip so far. We liked the hotel so much that we extended our stay.
Very stylish, tastefully decorated small boutique hotel in a colonial villa. Perfect location: three buildings away from the main street so, no noise, but only a few steps to the very center. Large and comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom. Welcoming hosts and great breakfast. I have also talked to the owner, and he is also a friendly guy, like all Sri Lankan people.
Best hostel I stayed in all of Sri Lanka. Room is beautiful. Common space is huge and easy to meet people. Full kitchen, fridge, free chilled drinking water. Right next to the beach that's great for surfing and also next to the bus stop to Galle Fort. Price is amazing. And the only place I stayed that took credit card payment!
Lovely boutique hotel. It was really comfortable, definitely one of our favorites in Sri Lanka. Staff were really helpful and we felt really well looked after. Rooms are well equipped with beautiful decor. Free tuk tuk to thr Fort is great. Highly recommend.
Perfect location for 1 night stay inside galle fort. Staff was really nice. Room was small but clean and perfect for a single person. Provided a Sri Lankan breakfast which was really nice. Had a nice stay and would recommend.
