Very helpful reception staff, big spacious rooms. The breakfast and dinner was very good, focused around local food, a good variety of dishes and menu changed enough for the second night, so not repetitive.

The owner lend us a kid's towel/blanket and my daughter really liked it. There was a high chair as well. There was sufficient utensils for adults and kids. The apartment was on the 1st floor so no stairs required to enter the house.

mizuki natural villa, hotel in Higashikawa

Situated in Higashikawa, 43 km from Azumamachi Hall and 11 km from Asahikawa Yojo Station, mizuki natural villa offers a garden and air conditioning.

I am very grateful to the host of this villa, Ms. Sanae, for providing such a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. The vila is beautifully decorated inside and outside. The check-in process was very smooth. The host provided a thorough explanation of the house rules and how to use the appliances in the house. The host lives in the same compound but with different entrance, so we still have privacy. This house is fully equipped with all the cooking utensils and laundry facilities. The bathroom is very clean. The water supply is sourced from mineral water provided by Mount Daisetsu to this small town, flowing directly to the house's sink tap. Overall, very satisfied with the villa and suitable for those who want peace and tranquility while on holiday.

K's House Hokkaido - Asahidake Onsen Hostel, hotel in Higashikawa

Situated in Higashikawa, within 43 km of Asahikawa Yojo Station and 45 km of Tokiwa Park, K's House Hokkaido - Asahidake Onsen Hostel features accommodation with a shared lounge and free WiFi...

This hostel is really excellent value considering it contains a good onsen, excellent kitchen, spacious dining / lounge area and very roomy dorms with comfortable beds. The location in Asahidake was much more beautiful than I had anticipated (especially as the snow was beginning to fall), and the staff were especially attentive and friendly. Don’t hesitate! The Onsen was perfect at the end of a hike - with an indoor and outdoor bath and plenty of showering space. Re provisions - yes there is a little shop on site but it is limited to simple dried ingredients & instant food / ice cream etc. I would recommend bringing things from Asahikawa or elsewhere. Also there is an ok restaurant at the ropeway which closes at 3!

We were there on 3rd week of Sep 2023 but somehow perhaps due to climate change, the autumn leaves didn’t feature . So I would recommend 1st week of October to visit. Regardless the Asahidake Ropeway did offer great views and the Sugatame Pond trap walk was most enjoyable with good views.
