I love that the host updates and informs you of the details that you need to know. Even the last bus schedule, the host informed me. which is really important to know. The area is in the countryside. The place is a good location near Hakone-yumoto station and there's a family mart nearby which closes around 11pm. The room is magnificent for the price. It is definitely worth it. The room was clean and cozy.

The hotel is beautifully situated on Lake Ashi, right beside Hakone Shrine and the Tori gate out in the lake. The hotel runs a shuttle bus from the nearby transpot hub on the banks of the lake, where buses to and from Odawara as well as the sightseeing cruise ships can be boarded. The hotel was also extremely clean and well presented. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

It was close to the lake in Hakone, and not far from the pirate ship you take to tour Lake Ashi and take the Rope Way. the breakfast included in the price was good. The lady cooking breakfast on the day I was leaving was so kind to give me suggestions and she even drew a small map for me (Fujisawa) and getting to Yokohama and then to Haneda Airport.

The location was perfect for our trip to Hakone. Very close to the cable car, and reasonable distance to the Open Air Museum. The rooms were very spacious, and the onsen was a plus. The breakfast and dinner were superb. We had an amazing Japanese traditional experience.

We arrived in the last days of the cloudy season. On day three we finally could see Fuji-san from the hotel room balcony. If it had not rained we might have ventured out on longer walks or visited more museums. We did not think too hard about the rain though because the room has its own balcony with ozen-water in an ourdoor bathtub made of Hinoki wood. Believe me, you can get it as hot as you want. It has its own atmosphere to be able to take an onzen-bath in pooring rain. - I would not have experienced that if the first days were not in the last remains of the cloudy season.
I recommend to visit the Pola Museum of Art.

Hakone is a great place to relax.
Hakone is a great place to relax. There are many onsen and many cute shops. But there might not be much to do in Hakone apart from that. Its close to many other places, which you can easily visit for day trips. In Hakone i definitely recommend all the museums and galleries, a boat trip to lake ashi and a visit to some onsen.

The best things are Lake Ashi including the pirate boat, the chair lift, the team car and train, the volcanic sulphur and black eggs, the Open Air museum (which was surprisingly the best thing and the French restaurant at Hakone Hotel. On a nice day Hakone is the most picturesque place. On a bad day you can’t even see out the window for the fog and rain. Could go either way. Typical mountainous area. The Hakone pass is worth it. Get 3 days if you are there that long as it only costs 400yen extra. Our bus trip from the station was 2000 yen so we even if it is an arrival or departure day, it is worth the money.

Hakone is a unique site that offers the visitor multiple ways to get around. The Hakone Free Pass is essential even if you have your own vehicle. We stored our bags at the pier of Motohakoneko and did a loop tour of ship through Lake Ashi, ropeway to Sounzan, Cable Car to Gora, train to Kowakien, and finally bus back to Motohakoneko. We had a great meal there and returned by bus to Odawara!

Á jewel in Japan so many attraction to see and do.
Á jewel in Japan so many attraction to see and do. I would recommend booking a room with your own Hot Tub or an Onsen that is attached to your hotel great to soak after a days sightseeing. The Hakone Free Pass is also a must allowing your to use almost all public transport, Pirate Cruise ships and cable cars to get you around the Hakone region and see all it has to offer. It's hard to believe this wonderful spot is only just over an hour on the Shinkansen from Tokyo.
One of the best locations you can stay if visiting Hakone as it's right beside the cable car to get you up the mountain. The Yunessun Onsen complex free shuttle bus also goes from directly across the road(great for kids and adults who want to try a non nude Onsen)Hotel is modern and minimalist in design. Good restaurant on site, breakfast is satisfying. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was expensive relative to the rest of Japan but good value for Hakone.
very nice and interesting experience of traditional Japanese bedding, meal and onsen. good value for the price! The position is excellent if you are coming to hakone for 1 night because the hotel is 5mins walking distance to the pirate ship and 10 mins to the temple. also the bedroom is very comfortable tho sleeping on the floor, very warm and quite hotel that you won’t see other customers often in the lift. and I can enjoy the onsen by myself at 9pm!
The location is superb! Very near to Komagatake Ropeway. The Japanese style room with Mount Fuji and lake Ashi view was fantastic. The outdoor natural spring onsen was cheery on the top :) The staff is very helpful. One of our guests was vegetarian so the Roykan staff made arrangements for us to have dinner and breakfast at thier parent Prince hotel nearby.
Overall, its a great Japanese hospitality experience at not too high or too low price.
Nice location and a 15 minute walk to the Hakone-Yumoto station. in the mornings they offer a hotel shuttle to the station until 10:30am. Room is spacious.
in the onsen there is a massage chair for free use which I liked to use after a long day.
