    As the name explains itself.

As the name explains itself. Dolceacqua is a beautiful, romantic small village situated in the mountains along a river. 15 odd minutes from the coast. Packed with charm, culture and ambience. Lots of quirky little streets to get lost in. A medieval castle, shops, galleries and restaurants. We'll worth the visit

A big surprise is that this tiny village is is only a few kilometres in from the coast (you can see the Med from the castle), and also a few kilometres from France and Monaco. Yet it's a world away. You really could see most of the town in a few hours; including stairs, winding alleys and the 'new' town across the river. Plenty of bus groups take pics on the famous bridge (painted by Monet), and then hike up to the castle and leave within an hour. But this is one of those places to sit and enjoy a coffee or a meal, and soak in a bit of old world charm. There are also plenty of friendly small shops where you can buy great smallgoods and pastries, as well as more mundane provisions. I was very pleased that my accommodation was so near the bridge, because it had a lovely view over the river, and direct access to everything from right outside. But also because I'd hate to schlepp my bags up all those stairs into this vertical village! The views up the valley are positively Alpine, yet there are Riviera beaches only 10 minute's downstream. If you've spent a bit of holiday time at one of those busy resorts, this could be the perfect 'time out' locale too.

Wonderful location to visit and a fabulous b and b, couldnt fault. It does say it has internet, but it actually does not have internet in the b and b, not the fault of the owner, but just caused by the location . We happily lived without internet inside the house for our 2 day stay. the owner has provided English speaking channels on the TV so that is available .

Dolceacqua is a medieval town full of history and tradition. I suggest to go as soon as you arrive to visit the Castle, from which you'll have a beautiful sight of the landscape and could learn a lot about the place. I had a very good dinner at Agriturismo I Gumbi, typical and genuine food. Don't forget to buy local wine (Rossese and Pigato) before leaving!

Beautiful place that suites best for those who enjoy peace and great views. There are only a few restaurants but the food you get is great. I recommend that you rent a car - a very short distance to seashore or to South-East France!

This is an absolute must to start your trip near Dolceaqua, the village with the bridge is very beautiful, spend some time on the terraces is a really nice atmosphere, lots of places to eat Ligurian food and little bars. Also, the surrounding mountain villages you should visit, small, genuine, local life and shops, beautiful views everywhere, bougainvilleas and oleanders!

Perfect apartement hidden away in Dolceacqua. Easy walking access to everything in the village. We found the apartment to be fresh, clean and bright. Perfect for two of us, but I think more people could fit with the sofa bed in the salon. Great value and the communication with the owner was easy and friendly. Would recommend sincerely.

Great location with lovely views over to Dolceacqua and the hills. Nice pool set on a higher level, sharing the views. Great terrace outside the kitchen with a sunshade, table and chairs and a swing seat. A great place to eat, drink and hang out while admiring old olive trees and fruit trees. All set on a very quiet road.

Very warm welcome on arrival, owners son helped sort our toll charges out that we'd accidentally incurred (!) he also helped us book some local restaurants as we were just passing through. Wonderful breakfast, close to local restaurants.
