AMARE IL MARE Affittacamere, hotel in Corniglia

AMARE IL MARE Affittacamere is situated in Corniglia, within 600 metres of Corniglia Beach and 27 km of Castello San Giorgio.

I liked the industrial design of the room, which had plenty of hooks. The room is tiny, but the owner placed everything you need in it tastefully. Communication with the owner was OK. We enjoyed ourselves there.

Pietra Azzurra, hotel in Corniglia

Situated in Corniglia in the Liguria region, Pietra Azzurra has a balcony. The property is set 27 km from Castello San Giorgio, 25 km from Technical Naval Museum and 27 km from Amedeo Lia Museum.

This is a great location with incredible views in this small coastal town. The little balcony is very nice and luckily was mostly sheltered from the rain that we had. Since it was pretty much off-season, it was easy to find parking along the main road.

From all 5 villages which I visited I love Corniglia the most. Small, very quiet with not too many turists comparing to very crowdy, sometimes noisy remaining villages. The access with almost 400 steps from the train station is not so challenging, especially when there is the alternative option: the shuttle is every 15 minuts or so. While located on the cliff, the views are incredible!

Corniglia is ideally located in the centre of the five villages in Cinque Terre with a variety of restaurants and bars. Use the road to access the town from the train station as the steps are difficult to negotiate. The walking trails are easily accessible with challenging climbs but incredible views of the towns. One piece of advice - if using Google Maps, do not take the Brugnato/Borghetto exit as the roads are of poor quality. Continue to La Spezia as it is much easier to travel this way.

The smallest city with the most stairs they say.

The smallest city with the most stairs they say. So it keeps you fit. Ideal for longer stay, as quite calm in the evening. Good hiking possibilities even without fees. Very good choice to eat and drink, the locals are always friendly. There is no beach but you can still swim at the old harbour. For the peak times the buses from the train station would be an improvement. The La Scuna is an excellent Bar, with good cocktails. The Bar Pan e Vin opens very early if you happen to want to drink you espresso early. The two small shops have a reasonable choice, for Cinque Terre reasonable prices as well.

Corniglia is fine but it's a super small town with not a lot of things to offer and the prices are high. It is worth visiting it during the day but half an hour it's more than enough to walk around all of it. I think the best option is to get an accommodation in La Spezia and take the train to the villages, since you will have a bigger offer in terms of accommodation and better prices there. There are no supermarkets in Corniglia but a couple of small stores with really high prices.

Loved that it was more quiet than the other towns on the coast and felt more cozy. Be prepared to climb steps…everywhere. Good dining choices. Sweet little outdoor cafe for breakfast not far from the hotel.

    Beautiful, quaint, little village.

Beautiful, quaint, little village. Perfect village of the five in Cinque Terre to stay in because it is smaller than the others so not as many tourists in the evenings. Stunning sunsets. Delicious food. Highly recommend Cafe Matteo. Hiking the trails between the villages is amazing, but can be pretty treacherous in many areas, so wear appropriate shoes and bring water. The trails are pretty crowded as well, so be prepared to be patient with fellow trekkers who may not be as athletic or active as you are.

Everything was perfect. The room was well sized and nicely decorated with a sea theme, and with the balcony overlooking the Mediterranean - a piece of paradise! Corniglia is the best town of the Cinque Terre and the location of the apartment was incredible - a quiet street but in a matter of steps you were in the centre of activity. Our host Fabrizio was wonderful, very pleasant, replied immediately and made sure everything worked fine. We loved it - Grazie mille!

Watching sunset from the balcony while having a drink and meal was an absolute winner. Eleonora was very responsive (in person and on WhatsApp) and providing lots of information and assistance. The accommodation, especially the kitchen, felt very thoughtfully put together. Corniglia as a location is wonderfully quiet compared to the other towns
