Reykjavik Marina - Berjaya Iceland Hotels, hotel in Reykjavík

Set in the popular 101 harbour district of Berjaya Reykjavik Marina Hotel offers free Wi-Fi access. All rooms include a flat-screen TV and either city or harbor views.

Marina Hotel is always a great base to explore the area, and its surroundings, with all the boats, are really special. My room this time wasn’t very spacious (which I was aware of), but it was functional. The staff is helpful, and the breakfast is good. Also, the hotel is within walking distance of many rental car offices, which can be really helpful.

Alda Hotel Reykjavík, hotel in Reykjavík

Located on Laugavegur shopping street in central Reykjavik, this hotel offers modern rooms with a flat-screen TV and free WiFi access. Hallgrimskirkja Church is a 5-minute walk away.

I stayed here 3 times during my trip to Iceland, one before trekking Laugavegur, once after, and once a week later. This review is for the triple room for two nights with three people. The was smaller than it appeared in pictures. The third bed was simply the fold out couch. Beds were clean and semi-comfortable. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner had a nice smell. Key card entry to hotel if returning late at night. Street parking very close if you can find a free spot. The phone thing they give you is nice I guess but they need to do a better job explaining it to tourists. Shower got nice and hot but it was tricky to get the dials in the right spot.

Reykjavik is a fantastic place for English-speaking people...

Reykjavik is a fantastic place for English-speaking people who are new to international travel. Nearly everyone speaks English and credit/debit cards are accepted for almost everything (except the busses, frustratingly). The city is small and very walkable and filled with interesting things to see and do: Shops, little playgrounds, restaurants, public art, and sights. The food is delicious and the people are really friendly. The snúður (Icelandic cinnamon rolls) are famous and rightly so. I highly recommend the public swimming pools. It's like $10 per adult to get in (less for kids & seniors) and the one we went to, Sundhöllin, had handful of different pools with different temperatures (35 c, 39 c, 42 c, 10-12 c). It was a great way to relax and 1/10th the cost of the fancy hot spring spas. Also don't miss the candy. The Icelanders love putting a little bit of licorice in lots of candies where I would not expect it at all (like Þristur, a chocolate coated caramel bar with bits of licorice gummies) and it's delicious. I can't wait to go back and see more!

Short city stay of 1 full day plus 2 half days that allowed...

Short city stay of 1 full day plus 2 half days that allowed enough time to sightsee the city, plus a 5-day package with Nicetravel. Great way to see the southern part of Iceland. Extremely expensive city on almost all fronts but food is generally very good. It gets extremely busy when cruise ships are in port making it hard to get a taxi for more than 4 people capacity. Airport duty free is literally true, as VAT and other taxes are high. E.g. chocolate bars are less expensive than in the city at convenience stores though I can't tell if it is for grocery stores or supermarkets as we did not go to either.

honestly this was the most boring city I've ever been in.

honestly this was the most boring city I've ever been in. One big tourist rip off. Devoid of history and even much culture. Sure there are the usual bars and palces to eat. not much else. Stayed 4 nights total. Could have done with just 1 over night

Had two-day stopover when flying from Frankfurt to Baltimore...

Had two-day stopover when flying from Frankfurt to Baltimore. Enjoyed the city. I highly recommend a harbor tour to see puffins and we also enjoyed driving around Thingvellir National Park in our rented car. The weather was very rainy and cool with a high of 52 degrees - a real shock in late July! Be sure to take warm clothing and raingear if you go, even in the height of summer. We skipped the Blue Lagoon - too pricey (minimum $105 each to enter!) and touristy, but we walked around the edge of it and saw its beauty without mingling with busloads of people swimming there. Reykjavik bakeries are great and a good place to buy sandwiches and other goodies for your flight if you're flying Iceland Air which does not provide free meals.

It was great for me who came her alone as a solo traveller.

It was great for me who came her alone as a solo traveller. I met various kinds of people and doing tours, especially food tour and living on a hostel helped with getting social contact. Lots of activities and as I’m leaving today after about 5-6 days I know there is so much still left to try and experience here. My glacial hike got cancelled so that I need to do next time aswell as visiting hot springs and checking out the nightlife! But I did ATV, food tour, waterfall etc tour on the south and rented a car and explored on my own and ended it all with a horse riding tour! Also visited Perlan and I recommend that if you like museums like me.

We all enjoyed our visit to Reykjavik! We are a group of friends and family ranging from early 30’s to late 60’s and there was something for everyone to do and see! We climbed to the top of the church, had drinks at the Ice Bar and enjoyed great meals all around town!

The accomodation was clean and the location is really perfect, the BSÍ bus terminal was close by, it's a walking distance to the city centre, plus there are a bunch of day trips where a bus will pick you up directly from the hostel. The rooms, beds and bedding were simple but quite comfortable and clean. There are a lot of bathrooms on every floor so even with the hostel almost full, I never waited too long for one. The kitchenette has everything you need to make a quick. For such a cheap price, this is really an amazing place to stay.

This accommodation is a really good choice to travel and explore Iceland. A bit far from Reykjavik center, but with good parking places and completely next to the cheapest shopping place, Bonus. So you can buy some foods directly next to your apartment, cook something and start your whole day trips all around the island. The property was completely clean, comfortable, with super easy access with door codes. The kitchen is full equipped. Just recommended!

The place is a Vietnamese enterprise comprising restaurant and hotel located right in the city center and footsteps from Hallgrimskirkja. Many details appear improvised, but the rooms are clean and the mattresses new and comfortable. Don't exptect grand hotel flair, but if you want to stay centrally for a decent price, it is very much O.K. There is some renovation going on, so maybe they currently try to raise the level.

Eric the Red Guest House was amazing - the location was perfect being close to the church, downtown, cafes, restaurants, and right next to a tour bus stop. The room was clean, comfortable and warm. The staff are friendly, communicative and easy to contact. Kitchen facilities were great to keep things cheap(er). This isn’t a big hotel, it’s much nicer - more like a homestay or bed and breakfast.
