The place is really good..
If you are person who prefers to just chill out at a place and go for a casual outing with chill weather the this is the place to be at.
If you look to explore places there are plenty of scenic sites where you can visit.. if you visit during winter there is very less chance of getting the majestic view of the Nilgiris...

We recently visited Kodaikanal, and it was a refreshing escape. The hill station offers stunning views of lush greenery, wildflowers, misty valleys, and serene lakes. Highlights included a peaceful boat ride on Kodai Lake, a stroll along Coaker's Walk, Pine forest, and exploring Pillar Rocks and Guna Caves.
We also visited the nearby village of Mannavanur. We had a great time at Mannavanur Lake and enjoyed the zip liner (a bit expensive- Rs. 500/-, but it's fine). We had a great time at the ICAR Sheep Farm, just enjoying nature at its best. On the way back, we enjoyed the beautiful café at Le Serre. However, we were a little annoyed with the delay.
The weather was cool and pleasant with occasional rain added to the charm. The town is quaint, with cosy cafes and shops selling handmade chocolates and fresh produce. It felt very safe, especially as it was a girls' trip, and we had a great driver. Overall, Kodaikanal is the perfect blend of nature, adventure, and relaxation.

If not for the traffic would have enjoyed the place a lot more. Around the pine forest area, it took us 45 mins to cross 1km. Most of the time in the day was wasted in traffic. If you can leave as early as possible to the major spots and come back to the city in the evening. However the views were great and the drive was beautiful( wherever there was no traffic)

Good view points in Moir point, and a nice trek in Dolphin...
Good view points in Moir point, and a nice trek in Dolphin nose. Plus boating facilities opposite Bryant park and Kodai main lake. Upper lake view road and pine forests made this a memorable journey.
Most over rated place is Guna caves - nothing to see there and overhyped after the movie Manjummel boys. Caves are closed since 2016 is what I heard from the locals.
On the way from NH - you get 2 waterfalls, silver cascade and one more - and Dum dum view point which is memorable and scenic.
Not a lot of veg hotels here - Hilltop view restaurant and Truly herbivore are great choices, avoid Kodai veg restaurant and Punjabi dhaba - overpriced for the quality of food. Did not get a chance to visit Spices of aroma also in city center.
Had melted hot chocolate in Meltiess on the city center road.
All of these places are almost walking distance of each other from the BP petrol bunk next to the city lake.
Temperature in the day was 24-26 and was 15-18 at night. Avoid peak season due to traffic and some restirctions being put in may for limited vehicles allowed with e-pass etc. in place from May 7-30.

Kodaikanal is the best place to travel to during summer.
Kodaikanal is the best place to travel to during summer. But the problem is everybody knows about it and too much of crowd will be seen during holiday season. I feel the place just operates beyond it's capacity to accommodate tourists and most of them are disappointed because of the time one gets to spend on the road in between the jammed traffic

Staff are good .loaction is somewhat far from the center of kodaikanal .No hotels are available near the room .but they will prepare their own food and serve you.we have some hot water issues, but they short out after some delay.
Very bad experience, worst staff service. The hotel didn’t provided towels, glasses , water and the toilets were not working. Bedrooms were stinking and bedsheets were dirty. The wardrobe were filled with fungus.
The location of the hotel is good as it is close to the lake and you can walk and cover the Kodaikanal lake, Bryant park and Coakers walk. Breakfast was very good however dinner was not that good.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staffs were amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kodaikanal.
Our stay was comfortable at this Hotel. It is located in the centre of the city and easily accessible. Near to most of the attractions in kodaikanal. Rooms were good, clean and spacious.
