Hampi is a dream world.
Hampi is a dream world. With monuments scattered like jewels all over, it is truly a city of victory as it overwhelms you with its rich tapestry of culture, art and devotion. The astonishing temple architecture, unique creations like the musical pillars, stone chariot, the 11 storeys of Virupaksha, the step well tank, the ferocious statue of Lakshmi Narasimha, hazaar Ram temple, the lotus palace take your breath away. Then kicks in the pride of being an Indian, of being born in the country and land of King Krishnadev Raya. The leisurely walk along the mighty Tungbhadra thru Kampabhupa marg peering into Sugrivas cave, Rama temple and varha temple , taking in the sights and smells of the flora and fauna , gradually realising that this is also Kishkindha of Ramayan kaal. That we are walking on the lands of our revered Gods and mighty kings who shaped the destiny of our beloved country fills one with awe and devotion.Mathur - Scored 1010

It was an amazing experience.
It was an amazing experience. We went for Holi and it was worth it. The only pain point was the weather. It was too hot so I would definitely recommend you go either during monsoon or post that. Apart from that the landscape is very unique and beautiful.PriyankaIndia - Scored 1010
Hampi is a very special place even if you just want to watch...
Hampi is a very special place even if you just want to watch the sunrise or the sunset, however it alot more to offer with the history of the city. I fully rec ommend you hire a qualified guide for the day it costs around 2500/3000 but well worth it otherwise your just walking around ancient sites not knowing what it all was. It's very spread out so you need transport, scooters tuktuk taxi. Alot is free but some places you need to pay it costs 600 which lets you into 3 of the locations. The temple elephant goes down to the river for its daily bath which is a good experience as you can get in the river near to it. Just enjoy itjohnFrance - Scored 1010

The sheer extent of the historical sites is remarkable. We benefitted from being adjacent to this in the Temple View Hotel in the bazaar area. The museum and main palaces are a must, made more pleasant and achievable on the heat by engaging an auto rickshaw driver at an agreed rate for the day( suggest 1,500 rupees for the day) Chill out bamboo was our favourite eating and cool drink location.KenUnited Kingdom
