The food was very good. Ferdinand was great, the ferry wasn't running so he was able to find alternative transportation back and forth so we didn't miss out on our time at Bunaken. The reef is right in front of the facility.

Bunaken 18 Diving Resort and Cafe, hotel in Bunaken

Located in Bunaken, a 6-minute walk from Pangalisang Beach, Bunaken 18 Diving Resort and Cafe has air-conditioned accommodations and a terrace.

We loved our stay at Bunaken 18! We took a quick weekend trip from Manado, and found the location is extremely convenient—it was near where the public boat from Manado dropped us off, making it easy to get to on foot. It is also so nice being right on the beach — the boat pulled right up to the property to pick us up for snorkeling. This resort just opened in May, and it is managed by the lovely Nita. She is extremely friendly and service-oriented, happily helping us organize a fabulous snorkeling trip, as well as a private taxi back to Bahowo. Our room was clean and comfortable (with AC😅), there were handy foot sprays right outside each room, and the handheld shower in the bathroom had great water pressure and a soothing spray. The breakfasts (cooked by Nita) are huge and delicious, and their slushy fruit juices, which Nita greeted us with the moment we arrived, are yummy and refreshing! You can also order lunch and dinner for an added fee. The resort is small, just 5 guest rooms, so we felt personally catered to. The only warning I’ll give travelers to Bunaken Island in general (NOT at all the resort’s fault!) is that WiFi AND 4G can be spotty depending on the weather.

    Great for learning SCUBA diving.

Great for learning SCUBA diving. Great for diving with fish, turtles, huge coral reef. The dolphin tour was fantastic, saw many many dolphins. Great for relaxing and snorkeling. I was there for 6 days and that was perfect for me.

Island of Bunaken is very accessible on a short boat ride from Manado harbor. The island itself is very quiet, almost boring if you come looking for lively nightlife or bars & restaurants. The main attraction are the coral reefs, still relatively pristine with its marine life ecosystem ... let's hope that it can continue to stay that way.

The island is very beautiful, a place from which to go diving and snorkling. There is everything for everyone. Unfortunately, the plastic is at home in a national park! Tourist activity has started to destroy the coral reef in some places. In a few years Bunaken park will be only in name. It is a recommended place for those who practice diving, less a place to relax.

Dive operation Celebes Divers made me feel very welcome and couldn't do enough to assist my diving. At 78 years old and with a scuba career of nearly 50 years, Dive leader Ali and the other dive team members plus the boat crew did all they could to assist me in exiting the water, given my knee problems, by me doffing my equipment in the water, crew members lifting it up onto the deck, so I could climb aboard unencumbered. Dived an interesting Japanese freighter wreck sunk by the Americans in World War 2 and several reefs chock a block with fish & corals. Well done Celebes Divers staff!

Airport transfers must be arranged through the resort.

Airport transfers must be arranged through the resort. Don't even attempt to do this yourself. You have to love swimming, snorkelling and or diving to make the most of your stay. The resort is in the bunaken national park - so the sites are pretty amazing. There is a spa to enjoy after the relaxing dives. Food is great so no need to drag snack along. Not mush to buy - so make sure you have the essentials! Enjoy a fab experience!

Oscar, the owner, provided fantastic service, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. The location of the resort is perfect, and the breakfast was generous and delicious. After spending already two weeks in indonesia we had our best time at Heiner Homestay with Ope, Olga and their lovely kids. They not only served us delicious food, they also helped us with guidance and information about activities. Snorcheling and dolphin tour with Ope was an incredible experience. Also the WLAN works very well. We really felt at home and welcome in their homestay next to the beach. Thank you so much!!

Very nice and helpful staff, good location right on the beach and in the centre of the village, yet still calm. The accomodation is part of the dive centre. This dive centre works very well and professionally. They adhere well to safety standards and the guides are kind and enthusiastic. Full board food is provided, it's simple and honest food, yet tasty.

Really loved our stay there. The rooms are very confortable and the hotel is ideally located right off the coral reef (5 min snorkeling from there). Divings were also very nice and the owners will make you feel at home.
