We booked two nights here after 6 nights exploring Budapest. Located 100 mins outside Budapest, the hotel provided the perfect location with a host of activities to keep our three sons (17, 19 & 21) entertained with excellent food, well-being facilities, complex wide wi-fi, attentive staff and a superb pool area with bar/restaurant.

Great area to stay around however if you don't know...
Great area to stay around however if you don't know Hungarian or German you can struggle with communication as English is rather not recognised as a spoken language there. It's really hard to communicate with the locals in English. However that wasn't a massive issue as there are always other ways to communicate :). All in all very good and quiet location. Fully recommended.

- Scored 9.39.3Rated wonderfulWonderful · 28 reviews- the host was there at the resort and he greeted us; he also gave us a quick tour of the location plus some extra tips for restaurants nearby - in the mini-fridge we had free snacks and beverages - the room comes with some free amenities provided by the hotel (e.g. sauna, pool, jacuzzi) - the location is just perfect nearby the forest - it is very peaceful and quiet yet you can still have some fun at the hotel's pool but also at the lake (free beach access 15 minutes away, by foot).maddy.spanuRomania

Balatonszarszó is small and quiet, but there is everything you need (shops, restaurants, souvenirs). Balaton lake is warm and perfect for swimming :) The owners live in the neighborhood and they are very nice and helpful.

The train is running past every now and then but only can hear it if you’re outside. the garden area is superb for families.
