In general, Kavala is a great place for summer vacation - plenty of cool beaches nearby like Iraklitsa, Nea Peramos, and many more (Batis, Tosca Beach). You can even go to Thasos island via ferry for a day. In terms of places to visit in the city (sight seeing), I would recommend visiting the fortress of Kavala (amazing 360-degree view), checking the ancient aqueduct and the museum of Tobacco is also a must. As for restaurants, most of the tavernas in the city are amazing - it doesn't matter if you are a fan of seafood or not - you'll find everything for every taste. The top 3 I would recommend as a must are Gorgones k Manges, Savvas and Balauro.

We had an absolutely magnificent holiday in Palio, Greece, and staying at Philip's house made the experience even more special. The house itself was beautiful, comfortable, and in a perfect location to explore the stunning beaches nearby. Philip was an incredibly gracious and helpful host, always available to recommend the best local spots to eat and visit. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, and his hospitality truly made us feel at home. If you're planning a trip to Palio, I highly recommend staying at Philip's place—you won't be disappointed!

My favorite city in Greece!
My favorite city in Greece! Its a must visit, the food, the people, the beauty and charm of this town is unmatched. My tips for places to eat are: Gorgones (Mermaids and guys), Sousouro, Savvas (especially for a great view. For pizza: One piece. For coffee: literally anywhere, the coffe is really good. For gyros: the same as the coffe, good everywhere. :)IvanaBulgaria
