Parking on street around the hotel was ideal and reasonably priced. We attended the new year eve fireworks which were great and look forward to seeing if they will be held again next New Year’s Eve. I think the local authorities are doing the right thing with enticing people to visit as along with hotel cost, bar tab and breakfast along with parking a meal in town and visit to a couple of bars we contributed a good few quid into the local coffers.JimUnited Kingdom - Scored 2.02.0

Never visited such a dump hole in my life. Absolutely filthy place, not much to like at all. First time visiting and can 100 per cent say never will we visit again. There are so many other places in the UK to go to that are much nicer and cared for.

Free fireworks on Saturday nights during the autumn weeks are brilliant. Other seaside towns should take note. Brought in families for the evening. Excellent Attraction with a Pier Railway.
Excellent Attraction with a Pier Railway. You can take a train to the sea up to 1.3 miles. What an extraordinary train ride. Once at the sea, you can roam, visit restaurants, take pictures or relax by the sea. There are plenty of seating and spots. The Pier Adventures villages have a lot of rides and activities to keep you engaged. It has a long beach where you can relax in the sunshine. Many casinos and entertainment options are on the other side of the road.

Personally, I enjoyed the walk. My room was on the ground floor next to the bright little dining room. Plenty of choice for breakfast and Emma, the host, was very friendly and made the stay like a home from home. There was also a handy small store for my bicycle. A ride or walk to the end of the longest pleasure pier in the country is a must when visiting Southend!LESLIEUnited Kingdom
