The staff are very friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. The breakfast is excellent and we had the small plates in the bar which I highly recommend. Lovely to see seaside tradition like the seafood stalls and donkeys on the beach. Good range of ice cream parlours and cafes along with some upmarket restaurants too. Lovely castle on the hill, worth a walk up to. Lovely walks too on the South side with the Italian Gardens and clock cafe along from the Spa theatre. A nice selection of shops in the main shopping area and Brunswick arcade.

Can be a fun place and good if you like music and appreciate pubs.

Scarborough is a beautiful seaside town, with fantastic beaches, great walks and superb views. It does however have a lot of issues. It appears to have a problem with ASB which can spill from the town and into the side streets. Homelessness also seems to be an issue along with a lot of drug problems and the town away from the beach is very scruffy. That being said it is still a fantastic place to visit and is a stunning part of the British coastline. The town has some great places to eat great things to see and do and it still has a romantic feel to it. They have some great stuff going on I. The town during the summer, the best part being the music put on at the OAT. Those who visit will more than likely go back time and time again. I know we do.

Scarborough is a hidden gem.
Scarborough is a hidden gem. We hadn't been before but will definitely return again. The small back street roads and full of character, steep in places and the worn steps around the town and seafront, if they could tell their stories, would be fantastic to listen to. The tales they could tell...
We visited Peasholm park which is a little gem, a wonderful and relaxing place to stroll around, and, to me, the fact so many locals frequent it says millions. If you haven't been, put it on you "to go to" list.
