We stayed one night at Highfield Farm close to Sandy & did...

We stayed one night at Highfield Farm close to Sandy & did not require a meal that evening. After a comfortable night & a good breakfast at the farm, we drove through Sandy to the HQ of the RSPB, where we, as members, wished to purchase some items for our garden, & see some of the bird-life at The Lodge. You will understand, then, that we didn't really visit Sandy itself, but we will say that some of the signposting en route from our B&B to The Lodge was less than helpful.

Our stay was very short so we didn't actually visit Sandy...

Our stay was very short so we didn't actually visit Sandy itself, but there were some lovely quaint little villages dotted all around that we drove through. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Jordan's Water Mill. The guided tour was very informative and it had toy rats hidden all over to engage the children. If they found them all, they got a medal at the end as a reward. There were some (free) outdoor games to occupy them also. The whole setting was delightful with its gardens and tearoom overlooking the river that runs under the mill. We also visited 'The Crown' pub in Northill, which served us an excellent meal and 'The Embankment' in Bedford was a lovely experience.

Exceptional - comfortable, quiet. Anne Marie and Tracy were very welcoming and friendly, and could not have done more for us. The rooms (we had two) were large, comfortable and had everything we could have needed for our stay. Would like to be able to stay longer, we only booked one night, however, we will be back and will stay longer. We will have to come back to Sandy due to family commitments and will most certainly be booking at Highfield Farm.
