Holiday Inn Express Newport, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Newport

With 125 air-conditioned bedrooms, Holiday Inn Express Newport is a modern hotel, offering ample free private parking and free WiFi throughout.

Spacious room, including the bathroom. Lovely shower. There was seating in the room for two people (some hotels don't have this). Plenty of parking outside. Convenient location for driving between Newport and Cardiff, which we wanted to do to see friends. Breakfast was plentiful.

Nothing atall! Couldn’t get any sleep with the uncomfortable bed! The room was dirty like under the bed was disgusting. I found a chocolate wrapper under the apparent fresh bedding too!!!!

All staff members were friendly helpful and responsive. The decor is pleasant and foyer and open areas stylish. A few blips were quickly sorted out. The cook in the breakfast restaurant on Sunday? Reece went over and above to answer my question and the source information if the eggs were free range, coming back to me with the box they are delivered in to demonstrate this and more about them .He seemed only to pleased to help and a nice upbeat helpful manner.

Great location for my family gathering.

Great location for my family gathering. Really enjoyed the mini golf. Food good in the restaurants but service variable- we ate at Rafters for a birthday meal. There were 14 of us and we had pre- ordered but the service was slow. The hotel rooms were comfortable and we had a view across the Severn.

The hotel isn't in Newport itself, therefore my review isn't for Newport. it's for a lovely little ancient village called Caerleon, with lots of Roman history including a museum and the remains of an Amphitheatre. We didn't go into Newport, but used the hotel as a base to travel up into the hills and valleys of Wales, which were absolutely beautiful. The Hotel is right on the doorstep of some stunningly beautiful scenery. It's a lovely drive to The Brecon Beacons from the hotel!

Very good modern hotel, it has only recently opened.

Very good modern hotel, it has only recently opened. Staff were excellent. Rooms were clean and well presented. Dined at Hotel restaurant for dinner and had the breakfast also. Food was of excellent standard. All staff were friendly and any query or issue was dealt with .Only negative was its location, not very easy for customers without cars to access places ( even near ones) due to have to cross about 4 busy dangerous roads . Ty Newport would benefit offering a shuttle bus service for customers to access places in Newport eg ICCW, Town centre, Train station.

Very disappointing night at this hotel would avoid at all costs. Stayed in room 1014 and was kept awake by the sound of a waste water pump constantly running. When complaining to staff on checkout I was inform this would be taken care of and an amount would be refund back to my account. This never happened! It’s not about the money I just wanted to have a place to sleep and not be kept awake by the sound of faulty equipment and plumbing.

The location was great for me as I was attending annual RBL conference... Although I didn't go to Newport town there were plenty of Taxis to choose from...or you could get the resort one... There looked alot to visit on the guides...

I never imagined a major town in South Wales could be so run down. I checked out of the accomodation a day early and found myself in the High Street around 0830. I had an hour or so here before my train out of town and I saw nothing of interest to a visitor.

This hotel is simply superb. The bedrooms are enormous, the fittings and fixtures are excellent. The cleanliness is remarkable. The breakfast is very scrummy. The car parking is safe and secure. But the best thing about staying in this hotel is the quality of food available in the adjoining Dragonfly restaurant, served by staff who know how to make the customer happy. I have already booked up for my next stay in this hotel and would recommend it to anyone planning to stay in a hotel in Newport.

It's a workies hotel, grubby and worn, not the best, if you need a cheap room for the night, or maybe just a couple of hours then it is fine. it is literally feet from the M4 so it is handy. Place stinks throughout but the room was fine. Certainly not a place to stay for a holiday. Breakfast is basically cornflakes and stale pastries and you have to wait because the breakfast room doesn't have enough tables.

I came down for Comic Con Wales at the ICC, which was straight opposite the hotel and only a 5 minute walk away and cross one main road. It was clean, air con was a great help after a long day. Room service excellent. Staff from reception to breakfast to room service were friendly, helpful and chatty.
