Amazing room! We stayed in number 6 sea view with a double in one part and two singles in the next. Both rooms had the sea view. What a gem of a place cannot wait to book again! Room had comfortable beds, lovely view, iron, wardrobe, fridge, tea and coffee and kettle, loads of plug sockets, great wi-fi, TV and was just really nice.

The sea front offers an excellent walk or cycle ride. There were some good ice cream shops. Pier book shop is an Aladins cave. It was great to just sit and watch the sun set, and to do some star gazing on a clear night. There were plenty of places to eat.

A seemingly friendly place, where I felt reasonably safe.

A seemingly friendly place, where I felt reasonably safe. Saw some stunning sunsets across the bay! Would have enjoyed more coastal walks, but the weather was not the best to start with. Summer returned for the last 3 days, however, which made it all the more enjoyable. I needed to use the local library, during my stay, and I have to say the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The indoor market was really good, the stall holders were very friendly, we walked along the sea front to the clock tower and into town. Morecambe like all towns has its fair share of empty shops but overall the atmosphere was good. Happy Mount Park was beautiful. Views across the bay were stunning. One thing I would say is take advantage of the trains, regular service to Lancaster and then loads of options. We went to Windermere one day and up the west coast the next. Really enjoyed it.

A bit run down in places but made up for by the location.

A bit run down in places but made up for by the location. Long and wide promenade great for walking and cycling with superb views across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District. Downside was busy coast road running behind promenade. Found great food and service at the Bow Window Cafe. Recommend a visit to Happy Mount Park at top end of promenade. Good variety of activities for all ages and pleasant walks.

Was 10 years since I last visited Morecambe.

Was 10 years since I last visited Morecambe. The place has deteriorated tremendously in that time. Definitely not as I remember it. The town is like most towns. Charity Shops, Bookies. Coffee & ice cream places. Parking is worth mentioning. Whether it's 1,2,3 or 12hrs, there's no escaping paying for it. Couldn't find anywhere for 24hrs... there's nothing there to entice you to Morecambe...although The Old Pier Bookshop is well worth a visit for all 2nd hand book lovers.

    Beautiful place.

Beautiful place. No airs or graces, just a spectacularly nice two-mile promenade with a massive tidal beach and wonderful views of cumbria. And really friendly people everywhere. The town behind the promenade looks a little run-down, but I don't understand why there are so few visitors.

The room was small, but the view across Morecambe Bay to the mountains was wonderful. We thought the staff members were all lovely. They were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. It was great to be able to store our bicycles in an empty room near Reception. The breakfast was good - ample and with plenty of choice and good coffee. We cycled each day, starting on the cycle path just yards from the hotel, on the promenade.

The Midland is an iconic and amazing hotel with spectacular views of Morecambe Bay. We booked a seaview room with balcony, which was very well appointed with a comfortable bed, great bathroom, good seating area and that fabulous sea view. The breakfast and dinner choices were great, the food delicious and the staff were friendly and respectful at all times. We would have no hesitation in revisiting.

Great location overlooking Morecambe Bay, comfortable sea-view room. Used the hotel's car park at £10 per night. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast. The Aspect Bar external area was great in the lovely sunny weather.
