In a stunning part of North Yorkshire, Goldsborough Hall is a stately manor that was once the home of Princess Mary, the great aunt of King Charles III.

The house was a country manor house operated as a bed & breakfast. The room size was very large, with a four poster bed and a large attached bathroom. The grounds were beautifully landscaped with many traditional English plants and flowers. The breakfast was very good.

Lovely place to stay. Very convenient location. Clean and comfortable room. Fantastic hosts. Karen was very friendly and welcoming and informative of the local area. Breakfast was yummy. Loved the idea of having a fridge on the landing with numbered bottles of milk and bottled water available for all the rooms. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

We loved the fantastic views we had of the river and surrounding area from the castle grounds. Two Brothers Grill was our choice of restaurant where I enjoyed a delicious 8oz rump steak with ribs and my wife had a 10oz rump steak. There are some quite steep hills to climb, but overall, the town centre is easy to get round. Some great bars for all ages.

Knaresborough has an attractive old town centre and a very scenic riverside with walking routes. It's got enough historic and architectural sites to keep a person interested for a few days, and plenty of nice pubs, cafes and restaurants to sustain you - try The Half Moon and Six Poor Folk. There's a pleasantly relaxed and welcoming feel to the place, and it's a charming example of a typical old English market town.

Some very interesting places to visit.
Some very interesting places to visit. Good cafes and restaurants. Superb Indian restaurant on High Street well recommended. You do need to be active to enjoy the walks as main attractions are up in town or down by river, steep walk.

Lovely venue and location. Restaurant and Bar area gorgeous.
Bedroom roomy and bathroom brand new. Great shampoo and hand wash…
Unfortunately the bed was super uncomfortable. Mattress not great and pillows really poor quality. Also smoke alarm was above the bed and flashed all night so had an awful nights sleep.
Such a lovely hotel for food and drinks. Service great but wouldn’t stay again.
It is basically lime having a large suite in a hotel but with the bonus of a kitchen. A great place for a few days to stay. Really clean and comfortable. Loved the fact that it came with a car parking space that is 2 min walk away. Knaresborough is pretty small and you can get everywhere in 10 mins walk. Couple of great pubs a a minute or two away down the hill.
