Nice warm friendly little pub, in a quiet area.
Staff very helpful with any questions asked. The regulars inside were welcoming and chatty and also answered any questions positively and honesty.
Although they don't serve food, they're are the usual online delivery companies that will deliver to pub. This suited me because of the nature of my work.
If fancy something more simple you may use the microwave in the kitchen, cutlery and plates can be provided to make the meal more homely.
My personal preference of tap lagers are on offer so was happy, are other beverages on offer to choose from.
Location is in middle of Newbury and Basingstoke with A34 and M3 not too far away.
Many thanks to Karen and Oliver.

The room was thick with dust, particularly the mirror and the fan. The shower chrome fittings looked like they had not been cleaned.
Located in the tranquil village of Oakley, a 15-minute drive from Basingstoke, this Innkeeper's Collection has well-equipped bedrooms, a bar and a restaurant.
I only wanted bed and breakfast for one night. I knew this venue could not offer breakfast when I booked, but it was priced at a rate that buying breakfast elsewhere made it a reasonable stop-over. The village is not on a main route to anywhere so is a quiet location within reach of lots of visitor locations and major business areas.
I will be looking to stop here when I next visit the area in September and again in December.

Best pub to eat and relax is The Crown, opposite the Church.
Best pub to eat and relax is The Crown, opposite the Church. Their are some lovely country walks. The George and Born has a more lively feel in the evening and food is more down to earth, and accommodation is clean and sufficient, but small rooms. Met our needs!

Room 3 was nice, and comfy bed, tea and coffee facilities, breakfast was enough, staff friendly.
Being a public house noisy until closing due to a party.

We stayed at Bel and the Dragon and would happily stay again. The staff were friendly and efficient. The place was spotlessly clean and the food exceeded our expectations.
The bedroom was very comfortably furnished and the bed was just right, plenty of comfortable pillows and high quality bedding. The bathroom has lovely products, I particularly liked the fact that single use products were not used, much more green to have refillable containers. We stayed one night to be close the Bombay Sapphire distillery, and would definitely stay again,

Kingsclere is a small village with two pubs a beautiful church and adequate services in terms of shops - a butcher, chemist and two grocery shops. It was less what Kingsclere had to offer but its location within an area with plenty of places to visit and with much to do. It was nice to be away from the pace of life these days but close enough to reconnect simply and quickly whenever you wanted to.

Staff always welcoming amd pleasant. My second time in the hotel and I was very happy to return. Henry the Lab was a wonderful extra bonus before breakfast. The boy deserves a raise!
Breakfast was delicious and the rooms are lovely, shower very good.
The pub is located in a beautiful village (Kingsclere) lovely to walk around. Has two other places to eat but here the food is just as good. Friendly welcome from all the staff. Breakfast was great and included in the stay.
Wonderful boutique hotel - lovely touches like my request for mint tea was met by a saucer of fresh mint - nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful staff and a truly relaxing stay thanks very much
