The Four Seasons Hotel, hotel in Crieff

The Four Seasons Hotel is set on the banks of the picturesque Loch Earn and offers breathtaking views of the loch and surrounding hillside.

Breakfast was excellent, on account of Sue (the owner) being really attentive to the needs and wishes of her guests. We stayed off-season, in very early January, so not all facilities were available, but all the ones we needed were: comfortable bed, warm bedroom, good food, and a host who genuinely cared

Achray House Restaurant with Rooms, hotel in St Fillans

Located in Saint Fillans, 47 km from Lake of Menteith, Achray House Restaurant with Rooms provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Clean, comfortable and toasty warm room on a very cold January evening. Gorgeous Mackintosh style bed with great mattress and lovely soft pillows. Dinner was exceptionally good, with all three courses exquisitely prepared and presented. Despite being understaffed due to illness the service was friendly and attentive throughout our stay. An excellent breakfast overlooking Loch Earn and the mountains behind gave us a great end to our stay.

The falls of Dochart as you enter the town are pleasant as is the river adjacent to the Hotel and the Church next door, I really wish I had allowed time to explore further. Leaving on the cycleway along the former railway line also afforded good views

Lovely village in a great setting.

Lovely village in a great setting. There are just enough shops to meet the traveller’s needs. The walks out of the village are a great variety abd beautiful and more adventurous walks are close by. A great centre for a few days walking.

    Great location, great staff.

Great location, great staff. Loved the evening meal and the outside bar area by the river. Unfortunately the breakfast was disappointing. The lack of muesli and granola and fresh fruit was disappointing. The cooked breakfast was ok but not very hot. The showers were old, and very very small. The single room had no window and was hot and claustrophobic. We paid 225 for two rooms and this is well above the average for bed and breakfast. Not really good value for money.

I have driven through Killin many times and it always seems such a wonderful place. However, on reflection, I have driven through at the weekend where it has been quite busy and there has been a hustle and bustle about the place. My stay this time was a weekday and after a day walking the hills by the time I went out for food and drinks the place was quiet. Therefore, it would depend on what you want from the visit, but I personally would’ve wanted a few more people around.

Pleasant small town in a wonderful setting by Loch Tay and high hills. A feature is the waterfall at Falls of Dochart. The nearby Dochart Inn serves excellent meals. Shutters was an excellent coffee shop. Everyday shops and an outdoor shop for hillwalkers and campers. Some attractive caravan sites nearby. Adequate free parking in the town. A good centre for exploring the surrounding area.

Killin is a lovely riverside village with the famed Falls of Dochart, a regular feature on calendars. It is rural but gives easy road access to many areas of Scotland from Oban, Fort William, Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perthshire not to mention the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park

We had a lovely stay at Capercaillie! It is located at the edge of Killin in a nice and quiet area (only a 25-min walk to the Falls of Dochart). The house has a lot bigger than we expected and spotless. The lounge was comfy and very modern, and the kitchen was really well-kitted out with everything you could need. The master bedroom had a huge en-suite and it all worked perfectly! Maybe a little expensive, but a lovely place to stay.

The house was very clean, modern and well equipped. We liked the location in Killin, which was surrounded by hills and mountains and there was a pleasant walk through the village to the river and Falls of Dochart. There were also other walks if you are fit and like up hill climbs. There is also a very good Co-op, post office and several places to eat in the village.

The Courie Inn is a real gem in the heart of the Southern Highlands. The hotel is well appointed and has an excellent bar and restaurant. The staff were lovely and the restaurant meals were superb. I found the full cooked Scottish breakfast an ideal start to a good day in the mountains. I shall certainly return.

This is a great hotel. Killin is a lovely place and the hotel is a few minutes' walk from the centre. The hotel is comfortable with efficient staff. The food and bar are good. There is an on site car park. The price is also good - highly recommended.
