Grasmere is a lovely little village and mainly car free, great for flat and hilly walks. Has a great go easy feel to it. Highly recommended to stay or visit from Ambleside. Public buses (hourly) to Ambleside and Keswick. We ate at The Grand and the food was lovely.

Good location for exploring the Lake District and a good base with a charming small village. It is also associated with William Wordsworth, the great poet and has a museum and one of his houses during his most productive period.

Grasmere is tiny and quaint. Perfect for an overnight, but could be a good base for exploring further afield.
We ate at the Wordsworth Hotel. Excellent meal, lots of choice and reasonably priced.
Beautiful galleries and lots of eatery choices at all times of the day. Vegans are well catered for.
Some nice shops for souvenirs and locally produced goods. We bought some jams made by the Hawkeshead Relish Company in Grasmere Gather. Had good ice cream from there too.

A famous and historic village in the Lake District, always a pleasure to visit. There is fine fell walking and walks on the doorstep. The only downside is that Grasmere gets a lot of rain, so you need to be prepared for it!

Beautiful, traditional village with a range of shops and eateries. Amazing Art gallery/ cafe. Plenty of walks starting from village and easy access to NT properties and Grasmere and Rydal water. Easy to spend two days here without a car and still enjoy a range of experiences.
The location of the hotel is lovely, right on Grasmere Lake. The customer service was good. We liked the spa, it was clean and pleasant. My husband had a treatment which he enjoyed. We ate at the hotel for the 2 nights we stayed and the food was nice. We actually preferred eating in the lounge bar to the restaurant as the atmosphere in there was more to our liking. Breakfast wS good, plenty of choice and lots to eat.
Location was very nice with an excellent view from the hotel which we loved. Lovely hotel grounds to walk in which also lead to a well frequented walk to Easdale Tarn. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very well furnished and spacious with plenty of room to accomodate our dog too. Grasmere village was about half a mile drive or a nice walk.
The hotel itself was very welcoming and friendly, breakfast was very good and all in all reasonable. Location excellent, right in the centre of Grasmere.
