We only had the opportunity to walk around the village of Ashover, which was very pretty and gave us a kind welcome.
We had breakfast in the local café, which was bustling and one of the hearts to this community. A tasty start to the day.
The weather was kind to be outdoors, so we made the most of the countryside, both locally and found the Monsal trail was great.
Unfortunately, we did not make time to visit the town centre of Chesterfield. We drove past the twisted church spire, which is fascinating. Next time we'd like to specifically visit this church.

Absolutely plenty to do in Chesterfield and surrounding area, Queens Park is good for dog walks, Chatsworth is well worth a visit even if you just use car park and walk around the grounds all day for 5 pounds, couldn’t possibly list every place of interest so so many, just go and explore.

I ate in my bedroom.
I hope never to return but should I require any other surgery I should certainly return to the Barlborough Hospital

The hotel was in the centre of Chesterfield , our room was clean and spacious and it was great as there was oat milk along with milk for our drinks 👍10/10 👏👏not had this in any other hotels we've stayed at, staff was very obliging and friendly will definitely stay here again and already recommended to friends, will definitely try another Wheatherspoons Hotel.
Casa is easily the best hotel in Chesterfield, we have stayed in most of the town centre offerings and Casa is head and shoulders above all of them. It is also the most expensive by a distance. Rooms are great, service is great, breakfast is great. what's not to like.
What I liked most about staying at the Ibis in Chesterfield Town centre was the staff. They were friendly, happy to help and gave a very good impression of the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and they are a credit to the Ibis brand.
The breakfast was amazing and the room looks lovely and was clean. The shower was a great size. The staff are lovely and friendly and the hotel is very conveniently located for the centre of Chesterfield.
