The location is fantastic could not ask for better. Parking was easy using the shopping center car park which is connected to the hotel. We got a free suite upgrade with a very spacious room. Hotel is a little dated but adds to its charm. Continental breakfast is included you have to pay extra for a full English which we did but we not offered any part of the Continental breakfast which I thought was a bit strange as its included.

Featuring half-timbered buildings, almost complete city walls and a wealth of Roman heritage, beautiful Chester sits by the border with Wales.
The southernmost gate of the walls overlooks the River Dee, and the road leading north is one of 4 in the city to follow the original Roman roads. To the east, the Roman Gardens include a reconstructed underfloor heating system.
Nearby Grosvenor Park has remains of a stone Roman amphitheatre, thought to have been built on the world’s largest wooden amphitheatre at the time. Over the river in the suburb of Handbridge is a 2nd-century shrine to Minerva, and an informative display in the Grosvenor Museum provides the background to all this heritage.
In the west is Chester Racecourse and nearby are the medieval castle remains. More medieval buildings line the cobbled city centre streets. Some of these are The Rows, black-and-white timbered buildings housing 2 levels of shops. Other shopping options are the indoor market by the cathedral, and the Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village in Ellesmere Port to the north. The road out there passes Chester Zoo, one of the UK’s best zoos.
Booking.com’s range of Chester accommodation includes hotels with swimming pools, guest houses by the train station and B&Bs with parking near Chester Airport.
Chester itself a lovely city with interesting tourist spots.
Chester itself a lovely city with interesting tourist spots. Let down by the drunks/ druggies hanging around city centre, which made you feel uncomfortable and let down the public face of the city. Disappointing to see.

A beautiful place with a safe atmosphere!
A beautiful place with a safe atmosphere! Every shop imaginable, Cathedral was well worth a visit and the walled walk was well worth it but did include quite a few steps up and down if you’re not very mobile as is a 2 mile walk anyway! Plenty of restaurants and cafes! Parking is quite expensive but there is a park and ride! The Tudor buildings are so pretty and all very well kept making it one of the nicest historic towns we’ve been to! The zoo is supposed to be amazing which we didn’t have time for but will do next time for sure!

Chester is a beautiful city, full of charm and romance.
Chester is a beautiful city, full of charm and romance. Walking the city walls on a fine day is special. There are a great number of shops in the central area. Good food and dining options. Lunch at Marmalade, a family restaurant, and dinner at the Grovesnor Chester Hotel. There are many other options.
So friendly and helpful staff. Room superb great breakfast and very close to train station and about 10 minuits walk to city centre. Liverpool approx 45 minutes by train to the river Mersey and city centre well worth a visit. Loved the queens hotel so much booked again for January. Pet friendly and will be back again nearer the summer to check out the other great activities that Chester offers. But the Queen hotel is our one stop destination from now on. Thank you to all the staff for our warm and friendly stay. See you soon
An excellent, quiet boutique hotel with great facilities within walking distance of Chester city centre, where the hosts are very welcoming, friendly and professional. Private parking was an added bonus too. A nice personal touch of a cuppa and home made cake on arrival! Luxurious room and very comfortable bed. Amazing wonderful breakfast with a great choice and using quality ingredients. 10/10 for us for everything. Thank you Dave and Kirsty for a lovely stay, we will be returning.
Comfortable & spacious rooms. Welcoming and friendly staff. Freshly cooked breakfasts and a good evening menu too.
Free car parking and a local bus stop outside the hotel to get into Chester City centre which is about 4 mins away, if you fancy walking it's roughly 10/12 minutes with Chester train station is about 6 mins walk away.
Hoole high street opposite the lodge has various independent shops and retailers with a friendly atmosphere.
The house is very clean and tidy you can tell it’s newly decorated. The owner was very accommodating we arrived early and it was ok to leave our bags to go shopping before checkin.
The hotel was very close to the city centre and the bus station is right behind the house to get to the train station.
When I stay in Chester again I will alway check availability there first before anywhere else.
The leisure and spa facility was nice to have at the hotel and seemed to have a wide range of equipment.
The location of the hotel to Chester City Centre was great.
The bed was comfy and clean bedding.
