Apart from the location, the staff and the room being excellent. Both the manager and his wife we’re probably the best hosts I’ve come across.

The owners and staff were SO friendly and accommodating. I have some temporary dietary requirements and they went out of their way. The food was delicious too

Burford is a bustling town during the day, although traffic very slow due to the bridge at the bottom of the high street . Thought we would eat out 2 night very little available in the town 2 in the evenings, couple of pubs with limited menus (pizza etc). Ended up in the Indian which was good.

This is a splendid old hotel at the top of the hill in one of the prettiest Cotswold Villages
The bar and restaurant were beautifully laid out and decorated - embracing its age but with modern touches
The dinner, which I had in the pretty garden was really lovely and twined with a perfect cold Lager. The garden sits close to a roundabout which was sometimes quite noisy.
My bed mattress was too hard for me and would have benefited from a topper or something. Other amenities in the room were great though; including lovely water tea and so forth. They should review the cleaning fluid choice which has an unpleasant smell - though the room and bathroom were perfectly clean and spruce.
I had a good nights sleep but was glad I’d remembered my earplugs due to the tractor and lorry noise - not unexpected since harvest had started.

We have visited (and stayed) many times as it is not too far from us. The town itself is delightful. A high street on a slight hill, free parking off the main road, over a cute little bridge over a stream.
The buildings and shops are beautiful, some shops for everyday things and the kind you associate with the Cotswolds town. Plentiful places to eat and drink.
On the A40 just before the turning is the Burford Garden Centre which is a lovely place to visit, if a little expensive. Lovely restaurant there too.
Not too far away is the Cotswold Wildlife Park which is great for people with children even quite small as it isn't too vast. Well worth a visit.
As with other iconic towns, it can get crowded in summer months but all are delightful anytime of year, especially on a sunny, if cold, day.

Burford is a Cotswold town with many shops, a bit overwhelmed by tourism and too many daytime cars (the river bridge has one lane and causes traffic jams), Lovely walks along the river. Best to head out of the town for interesting and nice pub dinners. Close to the (much overlooked) Rollright Stones which are as interesting as Stonehenge and one can still walk amidst the stones.
We stayed at the Baytree: lovely building, but the chef's menu left us dismayed.: uninspired and ok for one dinner, not more.

Room was very spacious and bed was comfortable. Burford House was right in the middle of the little village of Burford and extremely convenient. Breakfast was good as well, albeit quite oily. Overall I really enjoyed my stay.
Great location for both Burford and for travelling around the Cotswolds. The Hotel is full of character and the staff are all friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar and the food was good.
