Roman Remains and Georgian Grandeur
Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.
Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.
Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.
North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.
Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Bath er en egenartet by og det stemmer det du har sett på filmer og TV. Mange flotte bygninger, alle bygd i den samme lyse/gule steinen. Bath er en koselig liten by hvor man kan gå til "alt" Byen består hovedsaklig av gågater med butikker av alle slag. Vi gikk til Alexandra parken på rundt 20 minutter, og her var det flott utsikt over byen. The Abbey er verdt et besøk med sine 212 trappetrinn opp til tårnet. Er man heldig kan man også oppleve korsang under visitten. Mange hyggelige restauranter, og det kan være lurt å bestille bord på forhånd. Tog- og busstasjon er i gangavstand til sentrum.BuschNorge

Bygget ser litt slitent ut på utsiden, men leiligheten var fin og nyoppusset, så vi ble veldig positivt overrasket når vi kom inn. Det var ikke parkering med leiligheten, men det var en stor offentlig parkeringsplass 2-3 minutter unna.
