Ballymena - nice market town but Sunday its difficult to find anywhere open - especially before lunch o clock. Some nice wee bars and the food in the Grouse was quite nice. Staff also v friendly. Typical ballymena weather - it rained. Some lovely places to visit but you do need a car

The village of Broughshane is close to the house and has a Spar, although that does not sell any alcohol. There are 2 fish and chip shops and a pub that we ate in once which was nice. Ballymena has the big supermarkets if you need more than the Spar has to offer. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, everywhere we went was very clean, no litter and people were all friendly. Not far in a car to the coastal road which is a great drive, some lovely beaches and the Giant's Causeway. We all thought that we will think about going back again as it was so good.

The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. the hotel had a very friendly family-owned feel to it, which was a welcome change from my usual chain hotels. I loved the fact that my room was tidied every day, and the soaps and biscuits replaced if I'd used them. And the food was brilliant, and well worth the cost.
