We loved the medieval area and found a good place to eat. We didn’t have the time to visit more of the city but will be returning soon. The city is a very convenient place for stopping off on a journey through France. We ate at a restaurant called Octave - we’ve eaten there before and will do so again next week on our return to London

We had a long afternoon and evening in Troyes to take in the wonderful timbered buildings and squares. The restaurant choice was good and the street atmosphere great on a Saturday afternoon. With a little more time we might have done a little more and maybe a two night stay would have been nice to look at eg the vitrail exhibition.

We might never have stopped in Troyes but for the timing of the route we were driving. It was a delight and a surprise. The old town centre is comprised almost entirely of lovely old medieval buildings. We could easily have stayed another night and will come back.

More comfortable sleeping arrangements than the Ibis Budget on the other side of Troyes for our family :)
