Nice is absolutely beautiful.
Nice is absolutely beautiful. We took the Le Grand Tour bus which takes you all around Nice and you can get on and off the bus. It was worth the money. I recommend starting it earlier than we did (we only started the tour early afternoon) so you have time to get on and off more places.AAnonymous - Scored 1010
Nice is lovely.
Nice is lovely. The Promenade d 'Anglaise is very picturesque, the old town is lovely. Worth taking a trip up to the park overlooking the city (There is a lift if it's too hot to climb the steps) the top offers fantastic panoramic views over both the city and the bay. There are very regular train and bus services allowing day trips to Monaco, Cannes, Antibes, Menton and other lovely towns along Cote d'Azur, and the train prices are very cheap compared to those in UK. Nice makes a great city break., and the perfect base for the whole Cote d'Azur. We went in late October, and the temperature was still in the high twenties, and very sunny.

I love the city of Nice.
I love the city of Nice. It has delightful architecture, some splendid museums nearby, the Promenade des Anglais is iconic, the old town charming. There are splendid restaurants. The weather can be wonderful. I have special associations with Nice, both historical and professional, because I conducted and worked at the Opéra many years ago. My ancestor, the Reverend Lewis Way was responsible for the first footpath along the coastline in the 1820s and after whom the Promenade des Anglais is named. Nice - pebble ouch beach, shopping, restaurants, sights (lift behind Castel Restaurant/beach for Ascenseur du Château) Perfect base for trips to as far as Menton, Monaco, Ezze, etc Buses don't always stop where you expect them to (so main station might be best pickup point) Train ticket machines are busy in mornings (so maybe buy late afternoon for next day) - watch others to learn the process - if the gates dont open when using your ticket, then push them open and make your train - the police check train tickets sometimes.
