An interesting mix of beach life and "culture".
An interesting mix of beach life and "culture". Transport is cheap and efficient. The airport is not too far away and accessible by tram. We noticed as an "old couple" who have visited France over many decades (first visit nearly 60 years ago) that the restaurant menus now tend to feature burgers and pizza, possibly too much to the exclusion of local delicacies . The food is well cooked and reasonably priced, and staff respond well off you start with French and the finish in English!

Nice is beautiful city for short stays.
Nice is beautiful city for short stays. Full of beautiful buildings and beautiful beach. Maybe not best city for kids. Old town is maze to get lost in ad just forget about time. Castle hill offers amazing views of the city front and well worth a trip up to. Food and wine and people of nice are wonderful.

A lovely change to our regular home.
A lovely change to our regular home. Great history and old world features. Very central for visiting close by destinations like Monaco, Antibes and Cannes. After walking around the local streets, market, fort and the port there wasn't too much else to see. The waterfront is nice to walk along but the so called "beach" is definitely not - its a gravel quarry!
Food was generally okay quality but often very expensive for what you received. I would say twice the price as in Australia. Really glad we visited. Antibes would be the pick of the area if we were to return.

Accommodation is overly expensive but the city is very pretty. If you're very well off you can enjoy the accommodation (one room for 1 night costs over 1200 euro for a normal hotel, luxury is over 5000 euro per night). Restaurants and bars and shops are all normally priced. Even some shops were cheaper for the value of the handmade things they sold.

Beautiful old city on spectacular coastline.
Beautiful old city on spectacular coastline.
The old town and markets had much to see, taste and buy. Would recommend a visit to the Chagall museum and gardens, around 20minute walk from hotel.
Tram and bus system is very good and easy to use.
Great facilities, kitchen really kitted out with anything you could need. Big and spacious, which to be honest we didn’t expect and so was a nice surprise.
Location was good, and not a bad thing (you should know before you get there!) but most days do end up with a 20-30minute walk home if you’re spending time in the old town! But Rue de France, the road the property is on, has loads of places to eat and drink less than 10 minutes away
Great value for money, would definitely stay again and can see myself going back to Nice for sure!
Only a couple of minutes walk due south from Nice Ville Station; so very convenient if using the train. Also only 15 minutes to a tram stop (Jean Médecin) that takes you to both airport terminals for a ridiculously cheap price. France's public transport shames the UK's expensive shambles.
The hotel was really nice. Excellent value. Very clean room and bathroom. Easy walk to any shopping, or the Promenade des Anglais, or joining up with American tourists getting ripped off in the Old Town.
Conveniently located (a 15 min walk to the sea, a busy mostly pedestrian street with many shops); very nice staff in the hotel; breakfast is probably not bad as for France as at least it has a few basic salty products besides typical French ones; very clean room properly cleaned daily (and bed sheets are replaced); free unlimited cold water on the ground floor; modern shower installation; possible to leave a luggage; possible to call an inexpensive taxi with the reception.
The hotel and the room were cosy with nice design where you can fell comfortable. Breakfast was nice - not a huge variety of choice but necessary food was - warm omlet, cheese, meat, fruits, etc. in compare with other hotels in France it is a good breakfast.
Very close to train station and beach.
Some staff was helpful
The location was good, within walking distance from the old town. The staff is friendly and speaks a little bit of English. If you're traveling on a budget, take note that prices in grocery stores in the center of Nice are about 30-50% higher than on average in France.
