Montrichard is well located for visiting the surrounding...
Montrichard is well located for visiting the surrounding area and the chateaux, The town had all that was needed and was a typical French town with plenty of cafes. Everyone we encountered were friendly and helpful. It is only a 5 minute walk into town so no need to take the car. There is a great local market on a Monday and Friday.

A pretty medieval town, with plenty of shops and restaurants...
A pretty medieval town, with plenty of shops and restaurants. The river Cher runs through the town and there's a river beach with facilities. We would recommend La Creperie du Donjon for delicious food and friendly service, as well as La Fabrique Trattoria for amazing Italian food and staff who speak excellent English.

Cannot say as only stayed overnight. Would like to have seen more but was travelling south. Loved the wonderful ancient buildings etc. Only downside was being unable to find somewhere to eat which was unsuccessful as each place we tried was full.

Feels and looks a bit creepy like an abandoned hotel from '70s, but fun especially if you like games like "The Last of Us". Also, getting into the apartment was like a quest. Overall we liked it as an intermediate stay on our trip through Laura river castles.

Exactly what was shown on the website. A few minutes stroll took us into the centre of Montrichard a lovely little town on the river Cher. All in all a wonderful pick. Would highly recommended.

This time we came without our children and grandchildren - so the apartment in the centre of the town was great, not far from shops and restaurants and a good base for day trips to our favourite places.
