Interesting historic town dating from the 11th century, quietly situated behind a courtyard garden with free parking nearby. Fabulous breakfast included which we really enjoyed after a good night’s sleep in comfortable beds.

Beautiful medieval town along the Loire valley, close to Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé vineyards. In La Charité, you can visit the old church, priory, city walls and enjoy the local Saturday market on the main square. For those looking for a more active holiday, you can enjoy kayaking on the Loire, rent a bike to go cycling in the surrounding countryside or even go horse-riding in the local forest, called the Bertranges. The hotel itself is perfectly adequate; the room we were in was maybe a little basic with a smallish bathroom, but all perfectly acceptable for the price.
