This was our first trip to Beziers for over 20 years, and it has gotten better. A beautiful Old Town with a cluster of lovely restuarants, bistrols and cafes near to the Cathedral and prison. An excellent (free) sonne et lummier presentation tracking the development of the city for over 1000 years. And the central zone at the bottom of Old Town has been extensively removated and extended, with some fantastic lighting art in the parks. We stayed in Beziers primarily to visit friends in the area, but next time we'll go to visit only Beziers ;-)DavidBulgaria - Scored 1010

Forbes said it best: "Béziers has the architecture of Paris, the beaches of Cannes, the food and hospitality of Tuscany and the prices of Cedar Rapids." We did not get a chance to see the beaches and the market was closed for renovation, but when it opens it will be a gem.

We were just passing by and were curious about the town as we had read some good reviews. The area around the cathedral is nice with lovely views of the surrounding countryside but a part from that there was nothing else that caught our attention. We were surprised by the presence of people just wandering around (drunk or else) and this is more noticeable in a small town like Beziers. Unfortunately it did not meet our expectations.

We enjoyed our one night stay in Beziers .
We enjoyed our one night stay in Beziers . It’s really lovely around the cathedral next to the hotel where we stayed with great views over the area and beyond . Eating out is a pleasure as there are many restaurants to choose from . If busy it’s best to book . We enjoyed walking around the town looking at the Trompe L’oiel on the walls . There is a trail to follow but we didn’t have time . We would have liked to have visited the canal locks nearby too . Unless there are events on , it’s not the most exciting town but we really enjoyed it and if visiting again would stay 3-6 nights using the town as a base to explore other areas /towns nearby .

Also enough parking space in this part of the city (even on the same street). If you would prefer more safety the parking garage is just a fede minutes walk.
