I recommend starting your acquaintance with the market, then visiting the cathedral. After getting to know the cathedral, visit Napoleon's house. After the tour, freshen up and go to see the museum and Napoleon's chapel. Later, stop by the citadel and lie down on the nearby small beach.

Walk, walk, walk.
Walk, walk, walk. Explore the market and indulge in a wine while watching the shoppers. Go to Napoleons Cave for an informative video understanding of his life. Little train tour. The waterfront has many options for dining at night.

Ugly dirty town.
Ugly dirty town. Better to go to other places where the local governments have cleaners and have improved the city, like Corse which is an amazing city. After being in Corse and then coming to Ajaccio it is a real disappointment.

I had the unfortunate experience of losing my iPhone at the start of my trip. The desk managers at the Hotel Kalliste were amazing!!! They worked tirelessly to help me locate my phone that was left in a taxi. Thank you to Ilme!! Thank you to Joanne!! Thank you to Thomas!! You all went above and beyond to help me locate my phone. Great sleuthing to all! I was able to retrieve my phone and carry on with my vacation stress free.

The hotel may look old on the outside but the rooms are fully renovated. Our room was spacious, super practical, very clean and comfortable (USB & USB C ports, handy for international travellers).
Can't fault the location with restaurants and airport bus stop only a short distance walk.
Hôtel Fesch was perfect for our needs. It was central to explore and to reach the train station early the next morning. The rooftop bar was lovely but unfortunately was not serving food the night we were there.
The view of the sea, the balcony and the closeness to the beach. Lots of restaurants off the main drag serving fantastic sea food. Good Fish market with lots of different stalls selling Corsican delicacies.
The staff were excellent. They ensured I had gluten and lactose free breakfasts, answered my questions on the history of Corsica, made suggestions for visits and ensured I was comfortable.
