Santander was the decor of a long weekend trip for a specific music festival we booked. So our stay was built around that! We found out Santander is not as hot as other Spanish destinations in summer, this is nice for active/sports activities, shopping and relaxing without being grilled by temperatures. The Santander boulevard offers nice walks, the city center is quite concentrated and offers public transports if needed. Nice little tapas restaurants can be found everywhere and meals can vary from easy and cheap to more expensive. For a longer next trip, we would consider going outside of the city center as well to explore the green hills and the beaches!

Great for a city break or a longer trip where you could include San Sebastián or Los picos de Europa. Also bouncing with life as the Feria/Festival was about to begin. Great food and shopping and a chance to explore further afield for the more adventurous. The real Spain😊

We loved Santander.
We loved Santander. Great restaurants (some poor ones to avoid but you get those anywhere). This seems like a very safe city to walk around at night. It is easy to navigate and taxis are good value. The taxi from the airport to our accommodation was €26 Euro slightly more than what I was told on Google. The temperature in the summer is ideal much better than the searing heat in the south of Europe.
There is a great vibe in the city.

We have been to Santander many times to catch the ferry, but never spent the night there. So this time we did and wished we’d had more time. There are fabulous restaurants and great shops. Everywhere is within walking distance though there are some steep hills!

We particularly enjoyed walking up to the Palace on the Magdalena peninsula and then along the coastal board walk to the lighthouse. Beautiful views and so lovely to be near the sea. We also enjoyed walking around the town and along the harbour.
The place was spacious with a big bedroom and a nice living-room with a sofa bed, a television and a kitchen with a microwave and a hub. There was also a terrace of a decent size. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The location is great, just a minute away from Playa del Sardinero, the best beach in Santander. Within walking distance there are plenty of restaurants and bars, some of them with views to the beach. I will not hesitate to return to this hotel if I'm back to Santander. Excellent stay!
A boutique hotel indeed, very small, but perfect for a short stay. Very comfortable and quiet, great facilities, immaculately clean. Parking was easy to find. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach, and about a 10 minute drive to the ferry terminal. Theresa suggested a fish restaurant about 20 mins walk from the hotel, which was a fantastic experience. Also, the route takes you through an old tunnel under part of Santander. And a good selection for breakfast in the morning.
I stayed in this property as I had travelled from the south of Spain and was in Santander to get a ferry to the UK. This hotel was exceptional and room 425 offered a lovely view of the beach. The reception staff were excellent and the lady in duty provided me with a map of the town and ideas for dinner. Great staff and a great breakfast. Lovely hotel, great staff
This is a grand hotel on the sea front in a spectacular location in Santander. The staff were helpful, our room was of a good size with a balcony and an excellent sea view. We also had underground parking for our car. Reception staff had great recommendations for food and nearby cafes. The sandy beach was a short walk away with good swimming.
A very clean hotel in an excellent position for exploring Santander. The hotel is close to the old city and within walking distance of the various cultural centres that the city offers. There are good public transport links for visiting the lovely beaches on the peninsula.
