Guadix is a town with the charm of old times, a little sleepy.. there is very interesting part of city with cave dwellings (cuevas)
We missed to visit Cathedral museum. But we had a very nice trip to foothills of Sierra Nevada.
There is nice restaurant Liceo Accitano on the Plaza de la Constitución, popular for local people (which we like)

Look forward to returning to spend more time.
Look forward to returning to spend more time. Good to explore the barrio of the caves, the local church is free entry with a small museum and lots of cave rooms to explore. The alcazar was being renovated in autumn 2023 so will visit again -
The historical centre and modern part of town are both great to visit with lots of good value resteraunts, cafes, traditional architecture and a nice plaza major.
The city is situated in a unique area of Spain with nearby deserts and surrounding rock formations.
Excellent area for buying traditional ceramics.

Guadix is a friendly, small city/town, with a magnificent cathedral. There's not too much else to see, but wandering around the quiet streets of the old town is a pleasure in itself. There are a few good bars and restaurants. The cave area is interesting for a quick visit. All in all, Guadix seems like a nice place to break a journey and spend the night, but probably not worth going out of your way for a special trip.

The caves are a must when at Guadix and to stay in them isa great experience. The town was lively with an interesting historic quarter, a cabildo and a cathedral dominating the town. Plenty of place for tapas or dinner and all well served.

Guadix is not only the Cave neighbourhood, the old town has a fascinating history and historical monuments to visit. In the surroundings there are also amazing walks and views into the badlands. The food offer unfortunately is quite poor and not very appealing.
There is also an amazing tradition on ceramics and you can shop very beautiful and special pieces.

Fascinating to walk around the area of the cave houses and we can recommend a vist to the cave museum to learn more. Also we strongly recommend you have dinner at restuarante Vinoteca El Refugio (Plaza de la Constitución Junto Correos) as we had a fanstastic meal there.

Miriam was a wonderful host. Unfortunately we had to do late check-in and she was very understanding and responsive. She found a way to give us the keys and provided all the necessary information regarding the house and Guadix.
The house is amazing! The bed was nice and warm. The decoration of the house is typical with a modern twist. A truly great Cuevas experience. I will stay again at Cuevas Picoesquina when I visit Guadix.
Very quaint hotel with interesting decor and history. Location in the centre of the old part of the city: perfect for exploring the old city and cave dwellings on foot. Large bathroom with spacious shower & two basins. Comfortable bedroom & bed. Easy parking within a few metres of the hotel (in public space). Helpful host. Refrigerator in the room. Very good value.
Exceeded all expectations. Huge rooms very comfortable beds. Best beds in many hotels. Restaurant was closed, however the food in the cafe was great with outstanding service and lovely employees. One night stop but very relaxing. Would recommend
Great location for local sightseeing, also for single traveler. The room was small for the price asked, but staff was friendly and very helpful. The Restaurant 'Búho' serves tasty food and is conveniently located inside the hotel.
